However, prices have decreased recently in Washington, D.C., a trend that continued on Friday. The average cost for a gallon of regular gas is $3.588 in the capital city. This was a drop from a week ago when a gallon of regular gas averaged $3.631. It&rsquo;s also cheaper than a month ago when it cost $3.696 for a gallon of regular in the nation&rsquo;s capital. Moreover, gas prices are significantly cheaper today than a year ago in D.C., when the average cost for a gallon of regular gas was $3.972.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maryland<\/h2>\n<p>In Maryland, gas prices fell to $3.269 on Friday. This was a slight decrease from a week ago when the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.303. Falling gas prices in Maryland have been a recent trend, starting around a month ago, when the average cost for a gallon of regular gas was $3.472. Today&rsquo;s price is also lower than a year ago when a gallon of regular gas was $3.693.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delaware<\/h2>\n<p>On Friday, gas prices in Delaware continued to be the lowest in the region, at $3.168 per gallon. This decreased from last week when the average cost for a gallon of regular gas was $3.214. Prices are significantly cheaper than a month ago when residents of the First State paid $3.377 per gallon for regular gas. Additionally, a year ago, gas was much more expensive, when people in Delaware paid $3.622 for a gallon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virginia<\/h2>\n<p>The average price for regular gas in Virginia on Friday is $3.219 per gallon, a slight drop from Thursday&rsquo;s price of $3.227. Prices are also more affordable than a week ago, when regular gas cost $3.249 per gallon.
