This is a first-of-its-kind presidential campaign where you&rsquo;re not supposed to see either candidate, aside from the occasional still photo and edited video, accompanied by stories relayed by the media &mdash; the vast majority of which will be deceptive, if not outright and blatantly false.<\/p>\n<p>To the extent that it&rsquo;s in their control &mdash; and they do still have a lot of control &mdash; the media don&rsquo;t want voters directly exposed to Trump or Kamala. Trump, because the more voters see him, the more they like him. Kamala, for the exact opposite reason.<\/p>\n<p>Recall the 2016 election roughly 300 years ago. Trump won, and after it was over, the media spent all of 24 hours admitting they had become too insular and were too far removed from the concerns and motivations of Americans who don&rsquo;t live in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York. Then they immediately changed course and got to the far easier and more preferable work of sabotaging Trump&rsquo;s presidency and ensuring they never again made the mistake of treating him like a legitimate elected figure chosen by voters to lead the nation.<\/p>\n<p>That meant dismissing every reason voters had picked a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cry-me-a-river-bethenny-frankel-blasts-meghan-markle-apologizes-after-backlash\/\" title=\"\u2018Cry Me A River\u2019: Bethenny Frankel Blasts Meghan Markle, Apologizes After Backlash\">game show host<\/a> over a former senator and secretary of state to be president and increasingly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/donald-trump-iowa-speech-cnn-msnbc-1861186\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denying<\/a> him live TV coverage, which they excused by saying, &ldquo;Well, all he does is lie, so we&rsquo;re not gonna show that.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Suppression of Trump&rsquo;s speech and image became the norm. By the end of his presidency, he was kicked off Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Remember when CNN last year hosted Trump (a former president who was running for president again) in a live televised town hall setting? When it <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/11\/cnns-amazing-trump-town-hall-was-the-result-of-the-medias-own-suicidal-anti-american-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proved beneficial for the candidate<\/a>, the rest of the media lamented the event&rsquo;s host as &ldquo;set up to fail.&rdquo; Then CNN&rsquo;s parent company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/06\/07\/cnn-ceo-chris-licht-out-after-trump-town-hall-atlantic-article.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fired<\/a> the channel&rsquo;s top executive.<\/p>\n<p>After the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tv-network-ratings-drop-during-bidens-first-full-week-in-office\/\" title=\"TV Network Ratings Drop During Biden\u2019s First Full Week in Office\">town hall event<\/a>, Trump essentially disappeared from live TV (outside of <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/cnn-debate-fox-news-town-hall-viewers-d5478967c2a1bac2ae3ed00139a1e494\">Fox News appearances<\/a>). That is, until the debate in June, ironically, also hosted by CNN. That one ended up <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/democrats-admit-bidens-debate-performance-was-a-disaster-that-should-worry-everyone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">benefiting Trump too<\/a>. So much so that Democrats were willing to risk the power of incumbency by pulling the plug on Joe Biden&rsquo;s campaign and hurling Kamala to the top of the party as the new nominee.<\/p>\n<p>We&rsquo;re not seeing much of her on TV either. But while Trump wants to be on TV and is denied access, Kamala is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jesse-watters-says-kamala-harris-and-biden-are-avoiding-each-other-they-dont-want-both-of-their-bad-poll-numbers-to-rub-off\/\" title=\"Jesse Watters Says Kamala Harris And Biden Are Avoiding Each Other: \u2018They Don\u2019t Want Both Of Their Bad Poll Numbers To Rub Off\u2019\">intentionally avoiding<\/a> it <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/20\/now-we-know-why-kamala-and-the-media-dont-want-to-talk-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and the media are helping<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, there have been a few stories and cable news segments pondering when and where Kamala would finally do a national TV interview as the Democrat&rsquo;s new and unelected nominee. But they&rsquo;re swiftly followed by vicious commentaries attacking Trump&rsquo;s running mate J.D. Vance as a woman-hater &mdash; or otherwise stories that generously portray Kamala as a sensible moderate with legitimate policy proposals (as if she&rsquo;s not literally in the White House right now to implement them).<\/p>\n<p>If our reprehensible media had a genuine interest in pressuring Kamala into interviews or press conferences, there would be a spate of articles and TV segments about the objective failures of the current administration, in which she serves as vice president. Hyperinflation, millions of illegal migrants flooding the country, and two new foreign wars all happened on her watch. There would be round-the-clock coverage of the fact that her anonymous campaign aides have offered no explanation for why Kamala has allegedly abandoned every major policy position she had for her entire national political career up until two months ago. If she did, what happened that led to her change of heart?<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s no wonder Kamala stays hidden from the media. They give her <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/13\/kamala-harris-isnt-running-a-democrat-campaign-the-media-are-doing-it-for-her\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">no incentive<\/a> to do otherwise by simply repeating whatever notes her campaign passes along. Meanwhile, Trump is on standby for just a chance at engaging with a national TV audience that isn&rsquo;t solely watching Fox News. Consequently, suppressing Trump&#8217;s voice became standard practice; by his presidency&#8217;s end, he was banned from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Recall when CNN hosted Trump last year in a live town hall? The event turned out beneficial for him but was criticized by other media outlets as being set up for failure; shortly after that incident, CNN\u2019s top executive was fired. Following this town hall appearance\u2014and aside from Fox News\u2014Trump largely vanished from live television until another debate hosted by CNN in June also proved advantageous for him. This prompted Democrats to consider replacing Joe Biden with Kamala as their new nominee.<\/p>\n<p>Kamala has not been visible on TV either; while Trump seeks airtime but faces restrictions, she deliberately avoids it with help from the media. There have been some discussions about when she might conduct a national TV interview as the new Democratic nominee without an election process behind her\u2014but these are often overshadowed by harsh critiques of Trump&#8217;s running mate J.D. Vance or overly flattering portrayals of Kamala as a reasonable moderate with valid policy ideas (despite her current role in implementing them).<\/p>\n<p>If our biased media genuinely wanted to pressure Kamala into interviews or press conferences about her administration&#8217;s failures\u2014including hyperinflation and surging illegal immigration\u2014they would provide extensive coverage highlighting these issues during her vice presidency instead of merely echoing whatever information her campaign shares with them.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear why Kamala remains out of sight: there\u2019s no incentive for her otherwise since they simply repeat what her team provides without scrutiny.
