return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court once again rejected President Joe Biden&rsquo;s unlawful attempt to force American taxpayers to subsidize his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-court-shreds-bidens-student-loan-bailout-plan-as-a-complete-usurpation-of-power\/\" title=\"Federal Court Shreds Biden\u2019s Student Loan Bailout Plan As A \u2018Complete Usurpation\u2019 Of Power\">student loan bailout plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In its brief order, the high court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/orders\/courtorders\/082824zr_8mj9.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied<\/a> an application from the Biden-Harris administration to vacate a lower court injunction that prohibited enforcement of its latest student loan bailout program. There were no noted dissents in the order.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e16de61c688f8e08f115f2edcc15386d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e16de61c688f8e08f115f2edcc15386d\"><\/div>\n<p>Last month, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/federal-appeals-court-blocks-all-bidens-student-loan-debt-handout-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">granted<\/a> an emergency request by Republican-led states to prevent the whole program from taking effect after a district court only blocked part of it. The administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox7austin.com\/money\/biden-supreme-court-student-loan-repayment-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed<\/a> its emergency request asking SCOTUS to lift the appellate court&rsquo;s injunction last week.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Supreme Court unanimously upheld our court order BLOCKING @KamalaHarris and @JoeBiden'[s] illegal student loan cancellation scheme,&rdquo; Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AGAndrewBailey\/status\/1828869932639236236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> on X. &ldquo;This is a HUGE victory for the working Americans who won&rsquo;t have to foot the bill for the Biden-Harris Ivy League bailout.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday&rsquo;s defeat on the subject is hardly a first for the Biden-Harris administration. <\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court ruled in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/22pdf\/22-506_nmip.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">6-3 decision<\/a> last year that the White House&rsquo;s initial student bailout plan was unconstitutional. The administration attempted to justify its unlawful proposal by citing the <a href=\"https:\/\/uscode.house.gov\/view.xhtml?req=(title:20%20section:1098bb%20edition:prelim)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HEROES Act<\/a>, which was designed to provide debt relief for U.S. military service members in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4f350b22ed2070cacd02c556be8c567a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4f350b22ed2070cacd02c556be8c567a\"><\/div>\n<p>Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts declared that &ldquo;&lsquo;[n]o regulation premised on&rsquo; the HEROES Act &lsquo;has even begun to approach the size or scope&rsquo; of the [Education] Secretary&rsquo;s program&rdquo; and the White House&rsquo;s plan is &ldquo;staggering by any measure.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The dissent is correct that this is a case about one branch of government arrogating to itself power belonging to another,&rdquo; Roberts wrote. &ldquo;But it is the Executive seizing the power of the Legislature.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Biden-Harris administration <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/22\/biden-is-trying-to-buy-votes-with-student-loan-forgiveness-plot-despite-scotus-blocking-his-previous-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched<\/a> the &ldquo;Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan&rdquo; earlier this year in an attempt to sidestep SCOTUS and force taxpayers to pay off the debts of those who took on student loans. <\/p>\n<p>As a result of the Supreme Court&rsquo;s rejection of the administration&rsquo;s application to vacate the Eighth Circuit ruling, enforcement of the program is prohibited.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b389b6db0d7c6e3b312876f2acbc1ec2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b389b6db0d7c6e3b312876f2acbc1ec2\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d538ddcaa367de513099573ac2d397d8 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d538ddcaa367de513099573ac2d397d8\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Shawn Fleetwood is a staff writer for The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
