As such, he believes many factors were at work to set the event&rsquo;s security up for failure, with the shooting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3101337\/trump-will-hold-rally-in-butler-to-honor-those-killed-and-injured-during-assassination-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>killing one person<\/a>, Corey Comperatore, and injuring two others.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/josh-hawley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Josh Hawley<\/a> (R-MO) also provided an update on the investigation, explaining that whistleblowers revealed that Secret Service leaders told the agents protecting the rally and Trump&rsquo;s campaign not to ask for more resources because such a request would be denied.
