And that feeling has fueled their otherwise inexplicable defense of the indefensible.<\/p>\n<p>The latest example of this terrible woke pathology occurred Tuesday in California, where, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcra.com\/article\/california-dream-for-all-undocumented-immigrants-bill-advances\/61986509\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KCRA-TV<\/a> in Sacramento, the State Senate voted to include illegal immigrants in California&rsquo;s first-time homebuyer&rsquo;s program, and it did so despite the fact that the program has no money.<\/p>\n<p>You read that correctly. According to a spokesman for California&rsquo;s Department of Finance, the State Senate approved a bill to expand a program that has no funding.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/california-taxpayers-foot-six-figure-bill-gov-newsoms-celebrity-photographer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a> has degenerated into such a den of incompetence that no one seems to know the exact margin by which the Senate approved the bill, known as AB 1840.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>KCRA and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/california-would-give-undocumented-first-time-homebuyers-funds-despite-budget-deficit-advances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">other outlets<\/a> reported a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-joe-manchin-threatens-to-derail-bidens-1-9-trillion-aid-bill-unless-it-receives-bipartisan-support\/\" title=\"Sen. Joe Manchin Threatens To Derail Biden\u2019s .9 Trillion Aid Bill Unless It Receives \u2018Bipartisan\u2019 Support\">party-line vote<\/a> of 23 Democrats in favor and 11 Republicans against. According to these reports, some Democrats abstained.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.ca.gov\/senators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State Senate&rsquo;s<\/a> current composition, however, includes 31 Democrats and only 9 Republicans. That, of course, would make a 23-11 party-line vote impossible.<\/p>\n<p>To complicate things further, the national legislative tracking service <a href=\"https:\/\/legiscan.com\/CA\/votes\/AB1840\/2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LegiScan<\/a> had Tuesday&rsquo;s final vote at 25-14 in favor. By LegiScan&rsquo;s count, six Democrats voted against the bill, though one of those Democrats, Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil, actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/california-lawmaker-quits-democratic-party-goes-republican-unprecedented-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">switched<\/a> to the Republican Party earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the final margin, it appears that we can say with certainty that all Republicans voted against the bill. It also appears that anywhere from two-to-five Democrats voted against it.<\/p>\n<p>All of this matters, of course, because we want to know which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/final-straw-elon-musk-took-one-look-californias-new-school-rules-now-ditching-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a> state senators betrayed their own citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, according to KCRA, the California Dream for All program ran out of money 11 days after it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-reject-measure-to-provide-funds-for-israels-iron-dome-block-attempts-to-sanction-hamas-reports\/\" title=\"Democrats Reject Measure To Provide Funds For Israel\u2019s Iron Dome, Block Attempts To Sanction Hamas: Reports\">provided financial assistance<\/a> to 1,700 first-time homebuyers in June.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Tuesday&rsquo;s collective act of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/numerous-athletes-fleeing-olympic-village-woke-virtue-signalling-creates-nightmare-conditions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtue-signaling<\/a> almost defies belief.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Admittedly, they have no real way of funding this. Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh noted the bill&rsquo;s ironic affront to legal immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The U.S. as a whole has one million immigrants that come here legally, many of them are hoping to get assistance to purchase a home, this particular bill actually disenfranchises and disrespects those who have gone through the process who are ready to purchase or would like to purchase a home,&rdquo; Ochoa Bogh said, according to KCRA.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, with California in dire financial straits, AB 1840, if funded, would also harm struggling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/va-going-120000-disabled-veterans-demanding-return-tens-thousands-dollars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">veterans<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It would be so very wrong to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illegal-aliens-to-get-free-taxpayer-funded-health-care-on-jan-1-in-deep-blue-state\/\" title=\"Undocumented immigrants to receive taxpayer-funded healthcare in blue state from Jan. 1\">prioritize undocumented immigrants<\/a> over the men and women who have made great sacrifices in military service to our country,&rdquo; Republican State Sen. AB 1840 would short-change veterans even more.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In short, approximately two-dozen California Democrats voted to give <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/national-security-nightmare-biden-harris-admin-released-nearly-100-illegal-immigrants-terror-watchlist-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegal immigrants<\/a> money to buy houses. But those same Democrats did not fund the bill.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, perhaps they intend to fund the bill at a later date, thereby giving money to illegals rather than citizens. Or, perhaps they merely intended to parade their own perceived moral superiority in an act of collective virtue-signaling.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, of course, their behavior is indefensible.
