Out of approximately 180 attendees present, ‍nearly 160 voted for his removal; however, the Colorado GOP claimed that⁣ only 77⁤ were ⁢actual members, while the majority were proxies, suggesting a lack of quorum as many members⁢ were absent. Disputes arose concerning the interpretation of party rules, with differing opinions on ⁢whether three-fifths⁢ of those present or the entire membership was required for a legitimate ‌vote. The ‌Republican National Committee’s parliamentarian deemed the vote illegitimate. Nevertheless, party members will have a chance to conduct another vote on August ⁣31. Williams faced criticism for his endorsement of certain Republican candidates, which contrasted with the party’s desire⁢ for unity.

Colorado GOP chairman ousted in controversial vote

Colorado GOP Chairman Dave Williams, who is known for fighting with other leaders and his <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/watch-progressive-group-launches-mega-ad-campaign-against-sen-kyrsten-sinema/" title="WATCH: Progressive Group Launches Mega Ad Campaign Against Sen. The Colorado GOP clarified that only 77 attendees were actual members, while the rest were proxies, and noted that a significant number of the over 400 members did not attend. There has been disagreement among party members regarding the rules for such votes; some believe that three-fifths of those present is sufficient to remove an official, while others argue it should be three-fifths of all central committee members. The Colorado GOP accused those involved in the vote of improperly amending their rules to facilitate Williams’ removal without adequate member presence. Al Gage, parliamentarian for the Republican National Committee, deemed the vote invalid but allowed for another vote on August 31. Williams faced criticism for endorsing candidates against party wishes and allegedly using party resources for his congressional campaign, which he lost in June. His promotion of anti-LGBT messages during Pride Month also caused further division within the party.
