Hamilton explained that a section in the Immigration and Nationality Act allows states or local governments to receive information from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security &ldquo;to verify or ascertain the citizenship states of any individual in their jurisdiction.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a> voted 5-4 to reinstate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3131382\/supreme-court-rejects-rnc-bid-uphold-arizona-voting-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>an Arizona law requiring those registering to vote to provide documentary proof of citizenship<\/a>.
