An email from CTCL dated August 21, obtained by The Federalist, informed recipients about the launch of the A More Responsive Government 2024 Grant Program by the Institute for Responsive Government (IRG). This new nonpartisan initiative aims to assist local election offices. The email clarified that this funding does not originate from CTCL itself.

In 2020, CTCL channeled $328 million from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to public election agencies, strategically targeting areas likely to favor Democratic voters and enhance turnout. The email stated that they share such program information as part of their usual practice of providing nonpartisan resources and funding opportunities.

The communication featured both CTCL’s logo and that of a network it established in 2022 called the U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence, which unites key figures involved in election administration since 2020. Earlier reports indicated that this alliance found ways around Arizona’s prohibition on private election funding.

CTCL directed those interested in more details about the grants to contact IRG directly. According to IRG’s website, grant amounts will vary between $6,000 and $1.35 million based on each jurisdiction’s number of eligible voters. Funding will be available for jurisdictions deemed by IRG as having “responsive and user-friendly” electoral laws—specifically Colorado, Delaware, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada, and Washington D.C.

IRG’s website emphasizes that local officials are responsible for managing costly federal elections while many jurisdictions struggle with insufficient budgets for all necessary electoral functions. They assert these grants are intended to promote secure and efficient election administration between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025; applications are due by September 13.

Ned Jones from the Citizens Election Research Center expressed skepticism about the program’s impartiality: he views it as another tactic employed by progressive organizations funded by wealthy activists aiming to sway election offices towards a leftist agenda—a practice he believes should be prohibited nationwide like it has been in twenty-eight states since concerns arose over integrity following significant private funding during previous elections.

Despite its claims of being nonpartisan, IRG is associated with New Venture Fund—managed by Arabella Advisors—a prominent player in dark money circles advocating extensive reforms across government services including elections through measures like automated voter registration.

Sam Oliker-Friedland leads IRG; he also serves as chief counsel at CSME (Center for Secure and Modern Elections), an organization aligned with similar goals regarding voter registration reform linked back to New Venture Fund initiatives alongside close ties with CTCL.

Oliker-Friedland previously represented Cities Forward when they allocated substantial private funds toward Milwaukee’s elections shortly before Wisconsin enacted its ban on such financing earlier this year. His background includes significant roles within organizations known for training digital strategists aligned with Democratic Party efforts over recent years.

IRG’s team features two co-founders from CTCL who have backgrounds rooted deeply within similar advocacy groups pushing automatic voter registration policies alongside partnerships involving various left-leaning organizations focused on enhancing voting access through innovative methods like mail-in ballots or drop boxes—all under scrutiny regarding their influence over electoral processes moving forward

[8394,33926,27910,39053,33642
post-2329826","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-zuckbucks","tag-campaign-finance","tag-dark-money","tag-election-grant","tag-political-funding
["GET
