Let us debate. Quit rigging the media and the polls. It&rsquo;s a simple formula, people &mdash; get with it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To be clear, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-shows-true-colors-vp-pick-made-massive-donations-biden-pete-buttigieg-others\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shanahan is no conservative<\/a> &mdash; or anyone most conservatives would even consider as an ally, just like RFK Jr. is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-says-full-term-abortions-allowed-doesnt-want-leave-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no conservative&rsquo;s idea<\/a> of an ideal political partner.<\/p>\n<p>But her point about the emptiness of the Democratic position is dead on.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are petrified of the Kennedy campaign and its potential impact on the 2024 vote, and have been from the get-go. No less an authority than Jen Psaki, former White House press secretary and current Democratic mouthpiece on MSNBC, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jen-psaki-admits-rfk-jr-huge-huge-huge-problem-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called third-party candidacies<\/a> &mdash; and Kennedy&rsquo;s especially &mdash; a &ldquo;huge, huge problem&rdquo; for President Joe Biden&rsquo;s re-election bid back in April.<\/p>\n<p>Just because Biden has been replaced as Democratic standard-bearer by Vice President Kamala Harris, there&rsquo;s no reason to think those dynamics have changed.<\/p>\n<p>Besides being terrified by third-party candidacies, Democrats are relying more on scare-mongering about Trump and a potential Trump second term than in pushing their own ideas. As Shanahan wrote, &ldquo;Trump is worse&rdquo; is about their only response to any substantive complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, they&rsquo;ve engaged in barely restrained lawfare against the Kennedy campaign. As CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/06\/22\/politics\/democrats-legal-challenges-rfk-jr-ballot\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported in June<\/a>, Democrats are committed to keeping RFK Jr. (and Shanahan with him) off the ballot in as many states as possible).<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s not the behavior of a political party that&rsquo;s confident of its own beliefs &mdash; or of their resonance with American voters.<\/p>\n<p>This being politics, in a year that&rsquo;s been marked by unpredictable events, there&rsquo;s a chance of course that joining of forces between Trump and RFK Jr. might actually hurt Trump.<\/p>\n<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centralillinoisproud.com\/news\/politics\/ap-what-polling-shows-about-americans-views-of-robert-f-kennedy-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press report<\/a>&nbsp;Thursday, polls now show that Kennedy is more attractive to Republicans than he is to Democrats, meaning Trump might not gain more votes by bringing Kennedy into the fold.<\/p>\n<p>Trump could also alienate some supporters by allying with Kennedy because of RFK Jr.&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-left-speechless-charlie-kirks-simple-question-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">basically Democratic political DNA<\/a> and just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/vet-disturbing-realization-spotting-tell-tale-floating-rib-photo-rfk-jr-barbecued-carcass\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plain weirdness<\/a> (not to mention <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-takes-off-gloves-says-rfk-jr-will-indicted-slams-liberal-vp-pick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shanahan herself<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>But there&rsquo;s a reason for those Democratic friends of Shanahan to be &ldquo;terrified.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kamala Harris might not be a mumbling, stumbling octogenarian like her boss &mdash; who&rsquo;s still the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-say-bidens-female-led-comms-is-a-first-trump-has-that-now\/\" title=\"Media Say Biden&#039;s Female-Led Comms Is A First. Trump Has That Now\">current president<\/a> of the United States, God help us.<\/p>\n<p>But she&rsquo;s also an empty vessel, being allowed to float on leftist platitudes, no matter how much establishment media hype tries to cover that up.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-marjorie-taylor-greene-swatted-at-her-georgia-home-at-1am-after-fake-call-from-pro-trans-extremist\/\" title=\"Rep.
