Here are the gas prices for a gallon of regular-grade gas in and around Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Washington, D.C.<\/h2>\n<p>Gas prices dipped again in the nation&rsquo;s capital on Thursday, with the average price for a gallon of regular gas coming in at $3.643. This was a slight drop from Wednesday&rsquo;s cost of $3.650 per gallon. A week ago, gas in the District was $3.674 per gallon and a month ago it was $3.703.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virginia<\/h2>\n<p>The average price for a gallon of regular gas also dropped in Virginia on Thursday, coming in at $3.263. This was a slight drop from Wednesday&rsquo;s price of $3.274. Both prices are cheaper than from a week ago, when it cost $3.322 per gallon and a month ago, when the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.418.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delaware<\/h2>\n<p>Delaware has the cheapest gas prices in the region and continued that trend with another drop in the average price of regular gas on Thursday, coming in at $3.24. This was a decrease from Wednesday&rsquo;s cost of $3.277 per gallon. Prices are also cheaper than a week ago when it cost $3.32 per gallon and a month ago, when it cost $3.405 for a gallon of regular gas.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maryland<\/h2>\n<p>Maryland also experienced a decrease in gas prices on Thursday with the average price for a gallon of regular gas dropping to $3.329. This was a slight decrease from Wednesday&rsquo;s cost of $3.359. A week ago, gas was more expensive in the state when the average price for a gallon of regular cost $3.406. A month ago, the cost was even higher with a price of $3.493 per gallon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Illinois<\/h2>\n<p>Illinois is a midwestern state that is not located anywhere near Washington, D.C., however it is the state that is currently hosting the Democratic National Convention. The prices of gas in Illinois is significantly more expensive than any gas price in the states around the nation&rsquo;s capital. The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Illinois on Thursday is $3.737. This was a slight drop from the day before when the price was $3.754. A week ago, gas in the state was $3.849. A month ago, gas was even more expensive, hovering around $4 a gallon with a price of $3.949 for a gallon of regular gas.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mississippi<\/h2>\n<p>Mississippi continues its trend of being the most affordable gas in the nation. On Thursday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $2.930. This was a drop from a week ago when it was $2.962 per gallon and a month ago when it cost slightly under $3 a gallon for regular gas, coming in at $2.986. Mississippi is one of only three states in the country with gas under $3 a gallon. The two others are Oklahoma, where it costs $2.965 for a gallon of regular gas, and Tennessee, where a gallon of regular gas cost $2.98.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hawaii<\/h2>\n<p>Hawaii may be known as paradise but the gas prices in the state are anything but a joy for drivers in the state. The Aloha State has the most expensive gas in the nation, with the average price for a gallon of regular gas costing Hawaiians $4.65 per gallon on Thursday. A week ago, regular gas cost $4.675 per gallon.
