Both prices are a slight decrease from a week ago, when the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.698. Incidentally, a month ago, prices were nearly the same with regular gas costing residents in the nation&rsquo;s capital $3.70 per gallon. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virginia<\/h2>\n<p>Gas prices in Virginia are below the national average and have been for quite some time. On Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.283. This was a very slight decrease from Monday when gas was $3.287 per gallon.
