It&rsquo;s technically stage zero, to be specific.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/1119-pod-meets-world-98589488\/episode\/maggie-lawson-meets-world-206951118\/?embed=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Fishel would go on to explain that she was getting surgery to remove it and would need some follow-up treatments, but would otherwise be fine.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the actress credited a random reminder to get her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/doctors--new-mammogram-guidelines-for-women-who-have-received-covid-vaccine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mammogram<\/a> scheduled as the reason she was able to catch the cancer in such a early stage. She warned listeners about the importance of even the most mundane check-ups.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, she also did acknowledge that there would be &ldquo;big decisions ahead.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>(Per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.gov\/publications\/dictionaries\/cancer-terms\/def\/high-grade-ductal-carcinoma-in-situ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Cancer Institute<\/a>, Fishel&rsquo;s &ldquo;high-grade&rdquo; DCIS &ldquo;tends to grow more quickly&rdquo; and &ldquo;is more likely to come back or become invasive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/former-nfl-star-deangelo-williams-helps-pay-500-mammograms-honor-mom-died-breast-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breast cancer<\/a> and spread to other tissues.&rdquo;)<\/p>\n<p>Fishel would further go on to explain that the main reason she was sharing this update wasn&rsquo;t for anything resembling pity, but to just help spread awareness and empathy.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;For some reason, I had always thought [if I were to get cancer] I would suffer in silence,&rdquo; Fishel explained. &ldquo;I would get the diagnosis. I would not tell anyone.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I would tell only my small, small group, and then I would just suck it up.
