Because that policy &mdash; price controls &mdash; has never worked at any time in history.<\/p>\n<p>Harris is gearing up to announce her potential administration&rsquo;s economic agenda on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Early reports revealed that central to that agenda will be a federal ban on what her campaign calls &ldquo;corporate price gouging&rdquo; on food and groceries, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/harris-unveil-economic-agenda-cracks-price-gouging-food\/story?id=112872377\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, freedom-loving Americans know that &ldquo;price gouging&rdquo; is really just the natural way prices adjust to sudden rising demand, costs or other economic realities.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Putting an artificial cap on those price changes doesn&rsquo;t magically make everything better.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, doing so leads to shortages. If <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-harris-plan-drop-rent-prices-backfire-sowell-predicted-decades-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prices<\/a> are rising because of a disaster, for example, that is because supply is limited. High prices in these cases serve to ration goods, so more of them are available to more people.<\/p>\n<p>If the price of a good you need (or desperately want) during an emergency is high, only those who need\/want it the most will pay that high price.<\/p>\n<p>When these prices are held at an artificially low level, consumers buy in bulk, and purchasers buy in bulk. Those who don&rsquo;t even really need much see the rising demand and buy as much as they can.<\/p>\n<p>So-called &ldquo;price gouging&rdquo; during times of disasters also helps businesses recoup the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sbc-leader-talks-drama-and-decision-at-annual-meeting\/\" title=\"SBC Leader Talks &#039;Drama And Decision&#039; At Annual Meeting\">incredibly high cost<\/a> of bringing in and maintaining supply under such conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Price controls don&rsquo;t work any better as a remedy for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-msnbcs-joy-reid-delivers-ridiculous-40-second-word-salad-excuse-bidenflations-impact-midterms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenflation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Why? Because, despite what the term &ldquo;price gouging&rdquo; suggests, businesses aren&rsquo;t just arbitrarily upping their prices because they all-of-a-sudden became more greedy.<\/p>\n<p>They&rsquo;re upping their prices because rampant government spending and supply-constricting regulations are ramping up inflation.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn&rsquo;t take an economist to realize what Harris doesn&rsquo;t about prices. Even common-sense high schoolers know better.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, common-sense libertarian journalist John Stossel released a video showcasing students explaining why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-mcconnell-democrats-reckless-plan-to-rob-americans-a-second-time\/\" title=\"Sen.
