Nancy Mace&rsquo;s pronunciation of Vice President Kamala Harris&rsquo; name.<\/p>\n<p>Mace put more emphasis on &ldquo;mal&rdquo; in Kamala than Democratic strategist Keith Boykin and Michael Dyson, professor of African American studies at Vanderbilt University, said that she should.<\/p>\n<p>Boykin, who is African American, was the first to correct her.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the panel discussion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-rep-triggered-nancy-maces-attack-hunter-biden-potus-son-walks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mace<\/a> appeared to try to pronounce Harris&rsquo; name as Boykin suggested, prompting him to say, &ldquo;You had it right. You&rsquo;re disrespecting the woman,&rdquo; he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The professor further elaborated, &ldquo;That sounds like self-hatred and justification of white supremacy. And let me just say this because this congresswoman is a wonderful human being. But when you disrespect Kamala Harris by saying you will call her whatever you want &mdash; I know you don&rsquo;t intend it to be that way &mdash; that&rsquo;s the history and legacy of white disregard for the humanity of black people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So, now you&rsquo;re calling me racist,&rdquo; Mace responded.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t say it,&rdquo; Dyson said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That is B.S. That is complete B.S,&rdquo; the congresswomen continued.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You don&rsquo;t have to intend racism to accomplish it,&rdquo; Dyson insisted.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You&rsquo;re calling me a racist, and that is offensive, and it is wrong,&rdquo; Mace answered.<\/p>\n<p>Boykin, Dyson, and Mace then talked over each other as each tried to make a point.<\/p>\n<p>Dyson contended the practice of not pronouncing Harris&rsquo; name correctly is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-barbershop-full-black-men-tells-reporter-kamala-harris-isnt-black-trump-isnt-racist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">racist<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mace countered that it is disgusting that Harris cannot define what a woman is in an apparent reference to the Biden administration&rsquo;s transgender policies and push to mandate schools permit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ron-desantis-takes-legal-action-biden-ideological-agenda-harms-women-girls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">biological men<\/a> in women&rsquo;s sports.<\/p>\n<p>At a pride event in Washington in June 2022, Harris criticized Republican lawmakers for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-the-faint-silver-lining-to-scotuss-anti-speech-rulings\/\" title=\"Here&#039;s The Faint Silver Lining To SCOTUS&#039;s Anti-Speech Rulings\">passing state laws<\/a> regarding sports participation and bathroom use.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our children in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2023\/03\/28\/texas-senate-transgender-college-bill\/#:~:text=The%20Republican%2Dcontrolled%20Texas%20Senate,align%20with%20their%20gender%20identity.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/06\/02\/1002405412\/on-the-first-day-of-pride-month-florida-signed-a-transgender-athlete-bill-into-l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a> should not fear who they are,&rdquo; the vice president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2022\/06\/12\/remarks-by-vice-president-harris-at-the-2022-capital-pride-parade\/#:~:text=We%20should%20not%20have%20to,what%20we%20will%20fight%20for.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;We should not have to be dealing with 300 laws in states around our country that are attacking our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters.
