While the⁣ campaign has received media support, critics argue that it lacks substance, failing to define what‍ “joy” means in ‌terms of policy. This perceived lack‍ of transparency coincides with the duo’s history of ⁣controversial policies, from Harris’s previous support ‍for measures like banning fracking and advocating for⁤ Medicare ⁤for All, to Walz’s actions in Minnesota that critics see as anti-American, such as permissive abortion ⁣laws and support ⁣for⁢ illegal immigrants.

The piece raises concerns⁣ about‌ the administration’s direction under Harris and Walz, hinting that they may perpetuate divisive and extreme⁤ policies reminiscent of Barack Obama’s‍ presidency, which led to significant national issues. The ⁤authors also highlight Harris’s avoidance of direct media⁣ engagements since her nomination, indicating a preference for broad, uplifting rhetoric over detailed policy discussions.

Ultimately, the article suggests that voters should be cautious, recalling Biden and Harris’s previous⁢ claims of ‌moderation contrasted with the administration’s more progressive actions. The authors assert that the current administration is engaged in an ideological‍ struggle, using government power to enforce ⁤progressive policies that impact various ⁣aspects of American life.

The Democrat Party’s presumed presidential ticket, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, are trying to convince American voters that their campaign is about bringing “joy” back.

The Democrat House whip, Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass., has called Walz “joyful.” Walz has referred to Harris as a “compassionate, careful, joyous leader who believes in every one of you.” The “joyful” campaign theme has been quickly endorsed and promoted by the Democrat Party’s media echo chamber (see here and here.) But this whole thing feels more like a bait-and-switch scheme.

The Harris-Walz campaign reveals little about how “joy” is defined and measured, what policies the duo proposes to bring “joy” to America, and whether they aim to make all Americans feel joyful or only those who agree with them. Since the Democrat establishment launched a soft coup to swap Biden for Harris on July 21, Harris hasn’t done any sit-down interviews with any major media outlet nor held a press conference. Her campaign website is the first that doesn’t list the candidate’s policy positions.

The lack of detail and transparency about this supposedly “joyful” campaign seems intentional. However, the track records of Harris and Waltz are sufficient to make American voters feel worried rather than joyful about the horribly destructive policies a Harris-Walz administration will bring.

Harris’s failed 2020 presidential campaign revealed the extremely dangerous policies she supports, such as banning fracking, Medicare for all, an open border policy, and eliminating cash bail. After Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, committing rapes, murdering, and kidnapping on October 7, 2023, Harris expressed sympathy for pro-Palestine and anti-Israel protestors. To appease the Democrat Party’s extremist wing, Harris didn’t attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the joint session of the U.S. Congress, but she did make time to meet with leaders of the Uncommitted National Movement, a pro-Palestine group that calls for an arms embargo against Israel.

The Wall Street Journal reported that one of the main reasons Harris didn’t pick Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro for running mate was the concern that Shapiro’s criticism of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel protests on college campuses would turn off certain demographics of voters (think Dearborn, Michigan) the Democrat Party is desperate to appease. Not selecting a centrist like Shapiro also indicates that Harris has no intention to govern from the political center should she be elected as the president of the United States.

Harris’s handpicked running mate, Minnesota Gov. Walz, is known for disastrous, anti-American policies. According to The Wall Street Journal, Walz’s accomplishments include:

“Passing one of the nation’s most permissive abortion statutes that has essentially no limits and no age consideration for minors.”

“Declaring Minnesota to be a ‘trans refuge,’ with a law saying that the state will ignore a ‘court order for the removal of a child issued in another state because the child’s parent or guardian assisted the child in receiving gender-affirming care in this state.’”

“Making an estimated 81,000 illegal immigrants in the state eligible for driver’s licenses, along with health insurance through the MinnesotaCare public marketplace.”

“Mandating that public utilities generate 80% carbon-free electricity by 2030, ramping up to 100% by 2040.”

Walz’s response to Covid-19 further demonstrated authoritarianism. He encouraged fellow Minnesotans to snitch on neighbors who weren’t following the government’s lockdown orders, a tactic reminiscent of communist China’s approach.

When data showed that Walz’s lockdowns and school closures led to eighth-grade math scores falling to their lowest level in Minnesota in three decades, Walz responded dismissively: “I don’t buy it. These kids learned resiliency. They had to figure out how to get online.” It seems Walz’s joy is about pleasing those hell-bent on destroying vulnerable and middle-class Americans.

Most alarmingly, Walz publicly supports censorship, claiming “there’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy.”

By selecting Walz as her running mate, Harris reinforces that she is still the same West Coast leftist committed to realizing the most ruinous policies imaginable. Yet in an interview, Rachael Cobb, a political science Professor at Suffolk University, said that what the Harris-Walz ticket means for Democrats is “that they now have a ticket that embodies what many on the progressive side were hoping for.”

According to Democrat Party insiders, Harris-Walz’s “joy” campaign is modeled after former President Obama’s 2008 campaign of hope and change, relying on lofty and uplifting rhetoric to distract American voters from asking tough policy questions.

It’s crucial that voters remember that after Obama was elected, he introduced nationally devastating policies, including fundamentally changing America’s healthcare system for the worse with “Obamacare” and issuing an executive order (DACA) to legalize entering the United States while claiming to be a minor, all after Obama admitted he didn’t have the legal authority to do so. Not to mention that race relations between blacks and whites in the United States dramatically worsened under President Obama. So much for hope and change!

Voters shouldn’t forget that Biden and Harris campaigned as moderates nearly four years ago. In reality, the Biden-Harris administration has implemented policies that even the far left could have only dreamed of decades ago. For instance, their open border policy has led to more than 10 million illegal immigrants entering the United States. In just three and a half years, they have added a staggering $6.3 trillion to the national debt. This excessive spending has resulted in high inflation, placing a heavy burden on working-class families who are struggling with soaring food and housing costs.

The Biden-Harris administration is also fully committed to using the government’s power to fight a cultural war and enforce progressive ideology. For example, the Department of Justice has rewritten Title IX, “equating ‘sex’ with ‘gender identity’ or ‘transgender status,” essentially forcing schools to comply with transgender ideology or risk losing federal education funding. According to a lawsuit filed by the Texas attorney general, the DOJ’s move would “at the very least, generally impact living facilities, locker rooms, and showers, in addition to bathrooms, at schools across the country—affecting students in kindergarten through the post-graduate level,” and “would also call into question the validity of sex-separated sports teams.”

By campaigning to bring “joy” back, the Harris-Walz ticket inadvertently admits many Americans are not in a joyful mood under the Biden-Harris administration. This should make American voters cautious as the Democrats attempt to soft-sell their ruinous policies. If the Obama administration taught us anything, it’s that the American people must not fall for another one of the Democrats’ “bait and switch” schemes.

Helen Raleigh, CFA, is an American entrepreneur, writer, and speaker. However, this approach seems more like a deceptive tactic than a genuine message.

The Harris-Walz campaign lacks clarity on how they define and measure “joy,” what specific policies they propose to achieve it for Americans, and whether their vision of joy includes all citizens or just those who share their views. Since the Democratic establishment initiated a transition from Biden to Harris on July 21, she hasn’t participated in any major media interviews or held press conferences. Notably, her campaign website is the first not to outline her policy positions.

This absence of detail and transparency regarding the so-called “joyful” campaign appears deliberate. The past records of both Harris and Walz are likely to raise concerns among American voters about the potentially harmful policies that could emerge from a Harris-Walz administration.

Harris’s unsuccessful 2020 presidential run highlighted her support for several controversial policies such as banning fracking, advocating for Medicare for All, promoting open border policies, and eliminating cash bail. Following Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023—marked by violence including rapes and kidnappings—Harris showed sympathy towards pro-Palestinian protesters while avoiding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address at Congress due to pressure from the party’s far-left faction.

Reports indicate that one reason she did not choose Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as her running mate was concern over his criticism of pro-Palestinian protests potentially alienating certain voter demographics crucial to Democrats. This choice suggests that if elected president, Harris does not plan to govern from a centrist position.

Walz is known for implementing controversial policies in Minnesota; he passed permissive abortion laws with few restrictions; declared Minnesota a “trans refuge,” ignoring out-of-state court orders regarding gender-affirming care; made around 81,000 undocumented immigrants eligible for driver’s licenses; mandated significant carbon-free electricity generation by public utilities; encouraged citizens to report neighbors violating lockdowns during COVID-19—a tactic reminiscent of authoritarian regimes—and dismissed educational setbacks caused by his lockdown measures.

Moreover, Walz advocates censorship under the guise of combating misinformation related to democracy. By selecting him as her running mate, Harris reinforces her alignment with extreme leftist ideologies rather than moderate governance principles.

Political analysts suggest that this ticket embodies progressive aspirations within the party reminiscent of Barack Obama’s hopeful rhetoric during his 2008 campaign—a strategy designed more for distraction than substantive policy discussion. Voters should recall how Obama’s presidency led to significant policy changes detrimental across various sectors—including healthcare reform through Obamacare—and exacerbated racial tensions in America.

Voters must remain vigilant against another potential “bait-and-switch” scenario presented by Democrats under the guise of bringing back “joy,” especially given how discontented many Americans feel under current leadership

[546
3815,38331,27281,4021,5894
post-2325579","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-federalist","tag-agenda","tag-corporatism","tag-critique","tag-harris","tag-politics
["GET
