On Thursday, he will hold his second press conference in as many weeks in an effort to pressure Harris to answer questions from the media.<\/p>\n<p>Harris has yet to grant an interview since launching her campaign for president three weeks ago.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Kamala Harris is Bernie Sanders in a pantsuit,&rdquo; said Ron Nehring, a Republican strategist and the 2014 GOP nominee for Lt. Governor of California. &ldquo;Whenever she has to reach for a policy answer, she always lurches to the Left. This didn&rsquo;t matter much when she was just VP eye candy, but as the nominee, she pulls the party away from the coalition which elected&nbsp;Biden&nbsp;in 2020.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But Trump risks generating more unflattering headlines if he veers off script. During his first press conference at Mar-a-Lago last week, Trump claimed that his crowd on Jan. 6, 2021, was the same size as Martin Luther King Jr.&rsquo;s for his &ldquo;I Have a Dream&rdquo; speech in 1963.<\/p>\n<p>At a campaign stop in Michigan on Wednesday, Trump&rsquo;s running mate, Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jd-vance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>J.D. Vance<\/a> (R-OH), told reporters that Trump had &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3121744\/vance-defends-unfiltered-trump-michigan-rally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>earned the right<\/a>&rdquo; to stump as he sees fit and that his &ldquo;unfiltered&rdquo; approach to the race is an asset, not a liability.<\/p>\n<p>Vance disputed the idea that Trump, who spends most of his rallies fixated on Harris and her record, is doing himself a disservice.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Look, if you listen to what Donald J. Trump says, what I say, we are prosecuting the case against Kamala Harris on policy,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re reminding people that Donald Trump delivered peace and prosperity, and Kamala Harris has delivered war all over the world and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>unaffordable groceries and housing<\/a> here at home.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump campaign co-manager Chris LaCivita similarly dismissed the criticism during a Fox News Radio interview this week.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The focus of the campaign has always been about putting Americans in a better position to be successful, and it&rsquo;s going to continue to be that way,&rdquo; LaCivita said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Democrats high on &lsquo;exuberance porn&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Nonetheless, Trump has stoked speculation that Harris has knocked him off balance.
