of the European Union, is trying to force X CEO Elon Musk to censor presidential candidate Donald Trump on an American platform.<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> on Sunday that he and Trump are set to host a &ldquo;live conversation&rdquo; on X, marking Trump&rsquo;s return to the platform. But a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/shellenberger\/status\/1823069197628522670\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> from Thierry Breton of the European Commission issued a threat on Monday to Musk over the &ldquo;amplification of harmful content.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70605b47e391379b4c0f5409bc5d1f1a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70605b47e391379b4c0f5409bc5d1f1a\"><\/div>\n<p>The letter claims Musk, who owns a U.S.-based company, is obligated to adhere to EU law meant to govern European politics.
