Vance<\/a> (R-OH) defended his wife from attacks on her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Indian<\/a> roots as the 2024 presidential campaign heats up. <\/p>\n<p>During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pK1V2q05Zi8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>interview<\/a> with&nbsp;CBS&rsquo;s <em>Face the Nation<\/em>, the Ohio senator said he wished his wife&rsquo;s critics would &ldquo;just keep their mouth shut, or at least focus on me.&rdquo; Usha Vance has faced backlash from white supremacists after former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> tapped her husband to be his running mate.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;She&rsquo;s way out of their league,&rdquo; Vance told CBS host Margaret Brennan on Sunday. &ldquo;I get pissed off sometimes,&rdquo; Trump&rsquo;s running mate added, &ldquo;when people attack your family &hellip; for something that no person can control.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Usha Chilukuri was born to parents who immigrated to the United States from India in the late 1970s. She married Vance in 2014, and they have three children together.
