Youngkin said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.virginia.gov\/newsroom\/news-releases\/2024\/august\/name-1031585-en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> about the executive order.<\/p>\n<p>This latest move is part of Youngkin&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/governor-youngkin-invokes-veto-stops-virginias-entry-multi-state-vote-compact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">continued<\/a> effort to secure Virginia&rsquo;s balloting system ahead of Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>Voters have become uneasy about the security of elections following the 2020 presidential election with all of its irregularities that <em>definitely<\/em> weren&rsquo;t due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlsons-fox-firing-becomes-huge-gift-conservative-network-sees-surge-ratings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voting machines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secure-election-ever-21-2020-mail-voters-admit-participating-election-fraud-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dubbed<\/a> the &ldquo;most secure in history,&rdquo; but many voters felt vote-by-mail and other novel provisions poisoned the well.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath, any official who has dared to address those concerns with common sense measures has been smeared and shouted down.<\/p>\n<p>The most extreme example of this came in the wake of Georgia&rsquo;s Election Integrity Act, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-bidens-doj-sues-georgia-election-integrity-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden&rsquo;s Justice Department sued the state for supposedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/voter-suppression-abrams-claims-swiftly-derailed-georgians-turn-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resurrecting<\/a> Jim Crow laws against black voters simply because it required identification to vote.<\/p>\n<p>The ripple effect spread to Major League Baseball, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mlb-sued-100-million-hypocritical-decision-move-star-game-political-reasons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved<\/a> its 2021 All-Star Game out of Georgia over the new law, while others boycotted the state.<\/p>\n<p>The din has quieted down since then, but leftists are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bill-ensure-u-s-citizens-can-vote-passes-house-despite-opposition-nearly-every-democrat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poised<\/a> to pounce &mdash; especially if their candidate loses &mdash; whenever someone tries to make sure votes are only cast by those legally eligible to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps they&rsquo;re content with other ways to game the system in Virginia and other states, like early voting and vote-by-mail.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Youngkin has made significant progress toward securing Old Dominion&rsquo;s protocols for casting ballots, just in time for the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-personally-files-fec-form-using-bidens-number-shady-scheme-displace-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">important<\/a> national election in decades &mdash;
