It also contributed greatly to Biden’s win in Georgia by roughly 10,000 votes.

Even if the investigation shifted enough votes to show former President Donald Trump actually won Georgia, a near impossibility, it still wouldn’t be enough to change the results of the 2020 election that Biden won 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

Georgia has 16 electoral votes, which means Trump would still need 21 more to win.

“I’m just interested in the numbers. Following a narrow 3-2 vote to revisit the contentious election, the board plans to request that the state attorney general review the process and provide an update within 30 days. The focus of this investigation will be on claims of double-counted ballots in a county that strongly supported President Joe Biden, who received 72.65% of the votes compared to Donald Trump’s 26.16%. This county played a significant role in Biden’s overall victory in Georgia by approximately 10,000 votes. However, even if enough votes were found to suggest Trump actually won Georgia—a highly unlikely scenario—it would not alter the outcome of the election where Biden secured 306 electoral votes against Trump’s 232. With Georgia holding only 16 electoral votes, Trump would still require an additional 21 electoral votes for victory.

Republican board member Janice Johnston emphasized that her interest lies solely in ensuring accurate vote counting rather than determining who received more votes. In contrast, Fulton Election Board Chairwoman Sherri Allen stated that this matter has already been thoroughly investigated and resolved, asserting that further inquiries would waste taxpayer resources and distract from preparations for upcoming elections.

Board Chairman John Fervier, appointed by Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA), opposed further investigation efforts, arguing it could lead to lawsuits over what he believes is a settled case. He maintained that Fulton County fulfilled its responsibilities regarding the election process.

The results of the 2020 election have been certified by Congress with Biden as president; thus any additional investigations are unlikely to change those results. The upcoming November elections are anticipated to be competitive and may also require recounts since Georgia is considered a “toss-up” state according to various election services

[32675,34493,32987,4977,3976
post-2321188","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-2020-election","tag-election-board","tag-fulton-county","tag-georgia","tag-investigation
["GET
