and their Democrat political allies <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/10\/198-democrats-vote-against-bill-to-keep-foreign-nationals-out-of-american-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regularly claim<\/a> concerns about noncitizens registering ahead of and voting in the 2024 election are baseless because it&rsquo;s already illegal for foreigners to cast ballots in federal contests. Of course, these self-professed &ldquo;experts&rdquo; on &ldquo;misinformation&rdquo; <em>conveniently<\/em> decline to mention that there&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/13\/without-the-save-act-the-only-thing-keeping-foreigners-from-voting-is-the-honor-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">no enforcement mechanism<\/a> to prevent this from happening; or that numerous Democrat-run cities have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/19\/dems-claim-they-arent-importing-an-electorate-but-these-5-examples-indicate-otherwise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">granted<\/a> illegal aliens the ability to vote in municipal races. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b7d96863498c9eb7c88fb0a22802ea39 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b7d96863498c9eb7c88fb0a22802ea39\"><\/div>\n<p>Yet, for all their hyperbolic grandstanding and opposition to ensuring only eligible Americans have a say in U.S. elections, Democrats have no legs left to stand on when it&rsquo;s revealed that foreign nationals are, in fact, registering to vote. <\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.virginia.gov\/media\/governorvirginiagov\/governor-of-virginia\/pdf\/eo\/EO-35-Comprehensive-Election-Security-Ensuring-Legal-Voters-and-Accurate-Counting---vF---8.7.24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a> directing state agencies to undertake election security efforts ahead of the November election, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin revealed on Wednesday that the commonwealth&rsquo;s Department of Elections (ELECT) has removed more than 6,300 noncitizens from its voter rolls since his administration took office. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;All data collected by the DMV that identifies noncitizens is shared with ELECT, which uses it to scrub existing voter rolls and remove noncitizens who may have purposefully or accidentally registered to vote,&rdquo; Youngkin wrote. &ldquo;According to data from ELECT, between January 2022 and July 2024, records indicate we removed 6,303 noncitizens from the voter rolls.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Virginia is one of only three states to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elections.virginia.gov\/registration\/how-to-register\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">require<\/a> individuals &ldquo;provide their full 9-digit Social Security number&rdquo; when registering to vote, according to Youngkin.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-db5b9908c14775f0703c0ecbed859164 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-db5b9908c14775f0703c0ecbed859164\"><\/div>\n<p>In his order, the GOP governor instructed ELECT Commissioner Susan Beals to provide him with annual confirmation that the state&rsquo;s proper election protocols are &ldquo;in place&rdquo; and local registrars are fully trained on &ldquo;these critical procedures.&rdquo; This includes rules governing ballot deadlines, ballot chain of custody, tabulation machines, and verifying election results to ensure accuracy. <\/p>\n<p>Beals must also ensure ELECT is updating Virginia&rsquo;s voter rolls &ldquo;daily&rdquo; and removing ineligible registrants, including those who have moved out of state, died, are felons, or are &ldquo;individuals who are unable to verify that they are citizens.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>Youngkin further directed the state DMV to &ldquo;expedite the interagency data-sharing with [ELECT] of noncitizens by generating a daily file of all noncitizen transactions, including addresses and documents.&rdquo; As noted by the governor, registrars are required by Virginia law to cancel the registration of an individual who registered to vote &ldquo;by falsely claiming that they are a citizen,&rdquo; and must report such cases to their local commonwealth&rsquo;s attorney. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our election security model is designed to prevent illegal votes and guarantee legal votes are accurately counted,&rdquo; Youngkin wrote. &ldquo;However, security procedures can only be as strong as the state and federal law which governs voting. So-called &#8220;journalists&#8221; and their Democratic allies frequently argue that fears regarding noncitizens registering and voting in the 2024 election are unfounded, citing existing laws that prohibit foreigners from voting in federal elections. However, these self-proclaimed &#8220;experts&#8221; conveniently overlook the lack of enforcement mechanisms to prevent such occurrences and fail to mention that several cities governed by Democrats allow illegal immigrants to vote in local elections.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their exaggerated rhetoric against measures aimed at ensuring only eligible Americans participate in elections, Democrats find themselves without a solid defense when evidence emerges showing foreign nationals are indeed registering to vote. In an executive order aimed at enhancing election security ahead of the November election, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced on Wednesday that since he took office, over 6,300 noncitizens have been removed from the state&#8217;s voter rolls by the Department of Elections (ELECT).<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin explained that all data collected by the DMV identifying noncitizens is shared with ELECT for purging voter rolls of those who may have registered either intentionally or unintentionally. According to ELECT&#8217;s data from January 2022 through July 2024, they removed 6,303 noncitizens from voter registration lists.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia is one of just three states requiring individuals to provide their full nine-digit Social Security number when registering to vote. In his directive, Youngkin instructed ELECT Commissioner Susan Beals to confirm annually that proper election protocols are being followed and local registrars are adequately trained on essential procedures related to ballot deadlines and verifying election results for accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>Beals must also ensure daily updates occur for Virginia\u2019s voter rolls by removing those who no longer qualify\u2014such as individuals who have moved out-of-state or died\u2014as well as those unable to verify their citizenship status. Additionally, Youngkin directed state DMV officials to expedite sharing information about noncitizen transactions with ELECT on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p>The governor emphasized that Virginia law mandates registrars cancel any registration where an individual falsely claims citizenship and report such cases accordingly.
