Cori\u200c Bush (D-MO) has \u200bvowed to aggressively\u200c oppose the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) after losing her primary race to St. Louis District Attorney Wesley Bell, a \u200cdefeat attributed to AIPAC&#8217;s\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tim-scott-raised-nearly-6-million-for-2024-campaign-in-third-quarter\/\" title=\"Tim Scott raised close to  million for his 2024 campaign in Q3.\">substantial financial backing<\/a> of \u2064Bell. In her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mississippi-republican-governor-tate-reeves-wins-re-election\/\" title=\"Mississippi Republican Governor Tate Reeves Wins Re-Election\">concession\u2063 speech<\/a>,\u2064 Bush expressed that the defeat only \u200bfueled her to continue \u2064fighting against those \u200dwho opposed her pro-Palestinian stance, stating, \u201cThey about to see this other Cori.\u201d She called for action against AIPAC, \u200cdeclaring, \u201cI\u2019m \u2063coming to tear\u2062 your \u200dkingdom\u200b down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bush, who had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-pelosi-allowed-recently-covid-positive-rep-onto-house-floor-to-vote-for-her\/\" title=\"Report: Pelosi allowed recently COVID-positive rep. onto House floor to vote for her\">faced backlash<\/a> for\u200d her views, including voting against a resolution condemning Hamas, \u2064aligned herself with a group of progressive lawmakers known as\u200d the \u201cSquad,\u201d who have\u2064 similarly faced \u2063AIPAC\u2019s political influence. (Christian Gooden\/St. Louis Post-Dispatch via AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bush, who voted against a resolution condemning Hamas following its Oct. 7 attack and accuses Israel of genocide for its war in Gaza, is one of several lawmakers AIPAC has targeted this cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Its political arm, the United Democracy Project, opted not to challenge Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) despite spending heavily in her race last cycle, but it has found success elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond Bush, it helped defeat Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) in a Jewish enclave of New York. Bowman, Bush, and Lee are members of the progressive &ldquo;Squad&rdquo; in the House, creating uncomfortable optics for AIPAC. The group supports politicians on both sides of the aisle but is attempting to counter the uptick in anti-Israel sentiment on the Left.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, AIPAC emphasized that a progressive challenger had defeated Bush while noting the role it played in unseating Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus.<\/p>\n<p>Good had opposed a foreign aid package that included $26 billion for Israel.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Voters across America are rejecting anti-Israel voices in favor of candidates who understand the vital importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship,&rdquo; said Marshall Wittmann, a spokesman for AIPAC. &ldquo;Including Republican Rep. Bob Good&rsquo;s loss, Rep. Bush&rsquo;s defeat represents the third incumbent to have lost over their lack of an ironclad commitment to standing with America&rsquo;s ally Israel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Despite the war in Gaza becoming a flashpoint, it was not UDP&rsquo;s focus in Bush&rsquo;s Missouri House primary. Instead, the group highlighted her vote against the bipartisan infrastructure law that almost all Democrats supported in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Bush alluded to the &ldquo;deceit and distortions&rdquo; in her primary. She has previously defended her vote as meant to maintain leverage with the fate of President Joe Biden&rsquo;s &ldquo;Build Back Better&rdquo; agenda uncertain.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It costs a lot of money to lie,&rdquo; Bush said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the $2.2 million in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/08\/07\/cori-bush-primary-results-loss-wesley-bell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"support\">support<\/a> her campaign received from Justice Democrats, a progressive outside group, was not enough to stave off defeat. She lost to Bell 51% to 46%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But she promised to mobilize grassroots activists from the outside once her term expires in January.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There is nothing that happens in my life that happens in vain,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;So, this happened because it was meant to happen.
