The\u200c Democratic Majority for Israel PAC, which supported Bell, \u2063highlighted issues related to Bush&#8217;s stance on Israel, where she has been critical of the country&#8217;s military actions and has referred to its\u2064 actions against Palestinians as &#8220;genocide.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite her advocacy for defunding the police, Bush maintained her private security, citing past life threats. Cori Bush, D-Mo., lost her reelection bid during Missouri&rsquo;s primary elections on Tuesday, making her the second &ldquo;Squad&rdquo; member to receive the pink slip from voters this year.<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/decisiondeskhq.com\/results\/2024\/Primaries\/races\/missouri-us-house-democratic-primary-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">99 percent<\/a> of votes tabulated as of publication, Wesley Bell is projected to be the Democrat nominee in the battle for the Show Me State&rsquo;s 1st Congressional District this November. Jamaal Bowman <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/25\/new-york-primary-voters-send-squad-member-jamaal-bowman-to-the-unemployment-line\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lost his reelection bid<\/a> during New York&rsquo;s June 25 primary elections. <\/p>\n<p>Polls correctly predicted Bush&rsquo;s defeat in the weeks leading up to Tuesday&rsquo;s race. A Mellman Group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksdk.com\/article\/news\/politics\/national-politics\/new-poll-wesley-bell-cori-bush-2024-primary\/63-d75c36ab-a10b-4706-a24f-2805b3814dce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey<\/a> conducted from July 21-24, for example, found Bell leading Bush by 6 points (48 to 42 percent).<\/p>\n<p>The Mellman Group commissioned the surveys on behalf of the Democratic Majority for Israel PAC, which <a href=\"https:\/\/dmfipac.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aims<\/a> to elect what it claims are &ldquo;pro-Israel&rdquo; Democrats to elected office. The group endorsed Bell during the primary election, according to its website. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f678cfb64ab7d62722ae3f0db0f941a1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f678cfb64ab7d62722ae3f0db0f941a1\"><\/div>\n<p>Bush has been a vocal critic of Israel and its military response to Hamas&rsquo; deadly Oct.7 attack. The soon-to-be-former congresswoman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/cori-bush-could-lose-primary-israel-divides-democrats-1931714\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> for a &ldquo;ceasefire&rdquo; soon after Israel invaded Gaza and has since accused the world&rsquo;s lone Jewish State of committing &ldquo;genocide&rdquo; against Palestinians in the region.<\/p>\n<p>When boycotting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&rsquo;s recent address to Congress, Bush accused those in attendance of &ldquo;continuing to green-light genocide&rdquo; and &ldquo;actively celebrating the man at the forefront of that genocide,&rdquo; according to Newsweek. She also <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/10\/11\/only-one-democratic-socialists-of-america-lawmaker-condemns-groups-antisemitic-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refused<\/a> to condemn a statement issued by the Democratic Socialists of America that referred to Israel as an &ldquo;apartheid regime.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Since riding the wave of Black Lives Matter anger to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/09\/01\/meet-cori-bush-the-latest-socialist-squad-member-headed-to-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">win elected office<\/a> in 2020, Bush has also used her platform to advance divisive racial politics. She&rsquo;s openly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/01\/18\/say-their-names-democrat-congresswoman-demands-tribute-to-white-supremacist-murderer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accused<\/a> Donald Trump of being the &ldquo;face of a movement of white supremacy&rdquo; and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/01\/18\/say-their-names-democrat-congresswoman-demands-tribute-to-white-supremacist-murderer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">baselessly claimed<\/a> a Missouri couple who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/07\/31\/mccloskey-persecution-shows-no-self-defense-is-possible-without-a-lawyer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">defended<\/a> their property from unruly Black Lives Matter demonstrators of being &ldquo;white supremacists.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/05\/safety-for-me-but-not-for-thee-rep-cori-bush-justifies-her-private-security-before-demanding-to-defund-the-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supporting<\/a> leftist efforts to &ldquo;defund the police,&rdquo; Bush has maintained her own private security detail. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-28aa8decfea7457f44926c8248a09b69 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-28aa8decfea7457f44926c8248a09b69\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m going to make sure I have security because I know I have had attempts on my life, and I have too much work to do.
