Months later in June 2019, they met for a third time, and Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to step foot in North Korea. They continued to correspond through letters following their meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Trump recounted that he once played the Elton John song &ldquo;Rocket Man&rdquo; for Kim because he had never heard of the song.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also said President Barack Obama had told him that North Korea was the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-go-to-war-against-joe-bidens-450k-payouts-to-border-crossers-civilizational-homicide\/\" title=\"Republicans Go to War Against Joe Biden&#039;s 0K Payouts to Border Crossers: &#039;Civilizational Homicide&#039;\">single biggest threat<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One day I got a call from people who wanted to see me about him, and he wanted to meet. They did not want to meet with Obama and did not want to meet with anyone,&rdquo; the Republican presidential nominee said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said he got to know the North Korean leader &ldquo;very well&rdquo; and &ldquo;got along with him great.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The former president called Kim &ldquo;very smart&rdquo; and &ldquo;very strong.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He&rsquo;s the absolute leader.
