Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schumer-did-not-shake-netanyahus-hand-at-joint-address-due-to-serious-disagreements-with-leader-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Schumer did not shake Netanyahu\u2019s hand at joint address due to \u2018serious disagreements\u2019 with leader - Washington Examiner\">fellow progressive &#038;ldquo<\/a>;squad&rdquo; members Reps. Jamal Bowman of New York and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ilhan-omar-cori-bush-scramble-delete-memorial-day-posts-confusing-another-holiday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Ilhan Omar<\/a> of Minnesota were named in the lawsuit as well as several anti-Israel organizations, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/squad-members-sued-inciting-columbia-anti-israel-encampment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Gaza Encampment was extreme and outrageous conduct. It was illegal. It violated university rules. Its occupants harassed, followed, physically blocked, intimidated, and bullied Jewish students,&rdquo; the lawsuit reads.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;During the protests, I witnessed numerous offensive and antisemitic signs and messages, including antisemitic skunk posters with the Star of David,&rdquo; a student identified in the lawsuit as &ldquo;Tim Doe&rdquo; said, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/03\/us-news\/aoc-jamaal-bowman-ilhan-omar-face-class-action-lawsuit-for-columbia-encampment-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In one instance, I was walking with my non-Jewish friends when I was singled out because I was wearing my yarmulke. A leader of the pro-Palestinian protest approached our group and confronted me. He singled me out, yelling that I needed to move, and when I refused, he began to shove me out of the way,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>A student identified as &ldquo;Eric Doe,&rdquo; said in the suit that he &ldquo;felt like he was living under an ominous cloud of doubt and uncertainty as he waited for the protestors or administration&rsquo;s next move that would further impact his studies and life on campus.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Michael Doe,&rdquo; a sophomore said that during the pro-Hamas protests, he was told, &ldquo;Keep walking Zionist&rdquo; and was followed and screamed at by anti-Israel protesters.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In a civilized community, one does not call for the obliteration of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shapiro-for-the-left-bigotry-is-a-tool\/\" title=\"SHAPIRO: For The Left, Bigotry Is A Tool\">major metropolitan area<\/a>, praise terrorists, or threaten death and destruction upon our classmates and their families, friends, and coreligionists,&rdquo; the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Those were real damages sustained by the 36,000 students at Columbia who chose to obey university rules, go to class, and pursue their education, only to be frustrated at the finish line by the &hellip; acts of their classmates and professors, with the assistance and encouragement of outside activists,&rdquo; the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the protests were supported by Ocasio-Cortez and Omar.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is especially important that we remember the power of young people shaping this country today, of all days, as we once again witness the leadership of those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-aoc-sends-signal-to-college-protesters-within-hours-mob-forces-columbia-to-take-drastic-action\/\" title=\"Check out: AOC&#039;s Message Sparks Immediate Response from College Protesters, Prompts Drastic Change at Columbia\">peaceful student-led protests<\/a> on campuses like Columbia, Yale, Berkeley and many others,&rdquo; Rep.
