John Kennedy to thank for forcing it to happen.<\/p>\n<p>During a hearing Tuesday of the Senate Judiciary and Homeland Security committees, Kennedy asked FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate point blank if anyone at the FBI doubted Trump had been struck by a bullet.<\/p>\n<p>The answer is, apparently no one does but Chrisopher Wray. No doubt. There never has been.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve been part of this investigation since the very beginning, and that has never been raised.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy, being Kennedy &mdash; a conservative known as much for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-sen-john-kennedy-says-biden-trouble-claims-polling-fungal-infections-fiery-rant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">colorful speech<\/a> as his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-john-kennedy-spars-fox-host-calls-kamala-harris-ding-dong-wild-segment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outspoken opinions<\/a> &mdash; drove the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-praises-companies-for-standing-up-to-ga-while-critics-warn-they-are-playing-into-chinas-hands\/\" title=\"Biden praises companies for standing up to Ga. while critics warn they are playing into China\u2019s hands\">point home<\/a> with some clearly farcical elaborations.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It wasn&rsquo;t a space laser? It wasn&rsquo;t a murder hornet? It wasn&rsquo;t Sasquatch?&rdquo; he asked. &ldquo;It was a bullet?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was a bullet, senator,&rdquo; Abbate answered.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Fired by Crooks, that hit President Trump in the ear and almost killed him?&rdquo; Kennedy persisted.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One-hundred percent, senator,&rdquo; Abbate confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The first takeaway from the exchange is that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-joe-biden-slips-and-refers-to-kamala-harris-as-president-elect-saying-quiet-part-out-loud\/\" title=\"WATCH: Joe Biden Slips and Refers to Kamala Harris as \u2018President-Elect\u2019\u2026 Saying \u2018Quiet Part\u2019 Out Loud\u2019?\">deputy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-spike-in-florida-coronavirus-cases-despite-no-mask-mandate\/\" title=\"No Spike in Florida Coronavirus Cases Despite No Mask Mandate\">director<\/a><\/a> of the FBI had just called his boss a liar. In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-former-physician-savages-wray-suggesting-45-wasnt-hit-bullet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">widely criticized testimony<\/a> last week, Wray claimed, &ldquo;There&rsquo;s some question about whether or not it&rsquo;s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>At another point in the hearing, he said it was a bullet &ldquo;or some shrapnel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But it raises an even bigger question: Why would Wray even go in that direction?<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s not like the precise description of the projectile that almost killed Trump in the middle of an assassination attempt is critical to the big picture. The fact that matters is that there <em>was<\/em> an assassination attempt, enabled by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/articles-impeachment-filed-secret-service-director-kimberly-cheatle-no-choice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clearly incompetent<\/a> &mdash; or worse &mdash; Secret Service.<\/p>\n<p>It was an assassination attempt that was deadly serious &mdash; as evidenced by the fact that an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-will-return-almost-died-reveals-plans-2-weeks-assassination-attempt-stay-tuned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">innocent man was murdered<\/a> in the process and two others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/marine-corps-vet-wounded-trump-rally-released-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were critically wounded<\/a>. And it was almost successful.<\/p>\n<p>So the actual effect of Wray&rsquo;s testimony wasn&rsquo;t so much to clarify anything about the event itself in Butler, Pennsylvania, on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-trump-assassination-task-force-established-unanimous-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">history-making Saturday<\/a> evening in July. It was to give the impression that he was downplaying how damn close Trump came to death &mdash; to give Democrats and the establishment media a talking point and tarnish some of the luster surrounding Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/stunning-post-assassination-attempt-poster-will-win-trump-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reaction to the moment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wray didn&rsquo;t make Trump look bad.
