Strzok received $1.2 million and Page \u2062$800,000 as part of the settlements. Strzok was fired after the messages became public, while Page resigned. \u200dThe settlement is expected to provoke anger \u2063from Trump, who has long criticized the \u200cpair and accused the investigation surrounding \u2063him \u2063of being\u200d a &#8220;witch hunt.&#8221; Despite Trump&#8217;s claims,\u200c the 2019 Mueller report exonerated him and his campaign of any collusion with Russia\u200d during the election.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President Joe Biden&rsquo;s Justice Department delivered a multi-million-dollar payout to a pair of disgraced former FBI agents who discussed using an &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/12\/15\/8-worst-defenses-of-fbi-agents-anti-trump-insurance-policy-texts\/\">insurance policy<\/a>&rdquo; to deal with the threat of then-candidate Donald Trump winning the White House in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/justice-department\/peter-strzok-lisa-page-settle-lawsuits-justice-department-leaked-text-rcna163907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> Peter Strzok and his mistress, Lisa Page, landed a $2 million deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ). Strzok and Page received the payout through a set of lawsuits against the department claiming their privacy rights were violated when text messages exposing their bias were leaked to the media. Strzok reportedly settled his case for $1.2 million, while Page reached a separate settlement for $800,000.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The two had sued the Justice Department over a 2017 episode in which officials shared copies with reporters of text messages that they had sent each other, including ones that described Trump as an &lsquo;idiot&rsquo; and a &lsquo;loathsome human&rsquo; and that called the prospect of a Trump victory &lsquo;terrifying,&#8217;&rdquo; the AP reported. <\/p>\n<p>Strzok was fired following the messages&rsquo; release, and Page resigned. The pair went on to sue and landed a government settlement under a friendly administration months before the next election. <\/p>\n<p>The Russia collusion hoax plagued the first half of the Trump administration. Trump and his campaign were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/he-was-wrongly-convicted-of-murder-and-awarded-6-million-for-civil-rights-violations-the-government-refuses-to-pay\/\" title=\"He Was Wrongly Convicted Of Murder And Awarded  Million For Civil Rights Violations. The Government Refuses To Pay.\">finally exonerated<\/a> in 2019 when former Special Counsel Robert Mueller&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/03\/24\/706385781\/mueller-report-finds-evidence-of-russian-collusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> found not one person on Trump&rsquo;s team, let alone Trump himself, colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/07\/26\/us\/politics\/fbi-texts-strzok-page-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> &ldquo;the agreement is likely to anger Mr. Trump, who has railed against the pair for years and leveled baseless accusations that the investigation was a &lsquo;witch hunt&rsquo; intended to damage his campaign.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s accusations are only &ldquo;baseless&rdquo; if one <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/19\/think-the-fbi-deserves-the-benefit-of-the-doubt-this-laundry-list-of-corruption-should-make-you-think-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ignores the fact<\/a> that the government surveillance warrants in the Russia collusion hoax were not legally justified and were based on discredited opposition research in an operation approved by the leadership of the incumbent regime, as noted by DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz&rsquo;s report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[RELATED:[RELATED:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/19\/think-the-fbi-deserves-the-benefit-of-the-doubt-this-laundry-list-of-corruption-should-make-you-think-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Think The FBI Deserves The Benefit Of The Doubt? Once that failed in 2020, Democrats impeached the president again on his way out of office over another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-latest-anti-trump-operation-doj-and-media-deploy-same-old-russiagate-tricks\/\" title=\"\u200bIn Latest Anti-Trump Operation, DOJ And Media Deploy Same Old Russiagate Tricks\">hoax surrounding<\/a> the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.
