Falwell acknowledges and apologizes for the errors in judgment and mistakes made during his time of leadership. The Trustees and Falwell are committed to move forward in a spirit of forgiveness and with the hope of reconciliation in a Christ honoring manner.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, neither side is allowed to offer any further details.<\/p>\n<p>But a source familiar with the settlement negotiations told Secrets, &ldquo;This is a huge win for Jerry Falwell and a very good deal for Liberty University where they can move on from toxic litigation and support the continued growth of the university that Falwell built beyond anyone&rsquo;s imagination from his father&rsquo;s original vision.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Under Falwell, Liberty expanded into a nationally recognized college and political player.<\/p>\n<p>But in August 2020, he resigned after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jerry-falwell-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>couple of scandals<\/a> put him and the school in poor light.
