The crime spike in the summer of 2020 was a campaign op conducted by the Democrats and corporate media that cost billions in private citizens&rsquo; property and many lives. What Mayor Pete did is disgusting.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, I&rsquo;m biased: my brother was shot during that 2020 Summer of Floyd in Mayor Pete&rsquo;s South Bend &mdash; while he was mayor. My brother nearly died and became permanently disabled because Mayor Pete, along with all the rest of Democrat politicians, went soft on rioting, assault, and even murder (attempted and completed) for fear of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2019\/jun\/27\/pete-buttigieg-police-shooting-south-bend-indiana#:~:text=Soon%20after%20he%20was%20elected,illegally%20recording%20officers'%20phone%20calls.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appearing racist<\/a> and to create a climate of unrest in order to beat Trump at the ballot box.<\/p>\n<p>That said, let&rsquo;s discuss how fundamentally wrong Mayor Pete is on crime. First, it is important to remember that arguments about crime levels are only arguments about crime <em>statistics<\/em>, that is, <em>reported<\/em> crimes. Everyone knows things have gotten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2024\/04\/24\/what-the-data-says-about-crime-in-the-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">woolier and friskier<\/a> on our city streets under Biden. And everyone knows crimes are not being fully reported. Police don&rsquo;t show up for hours to pressing, even violent, crime since 2020 (if they do at all).<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>There <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/police-officer-staffing-shortages-law-enforcement-agencies-nationwide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aren&rsquo;t enough cops<\/a>, and the cops that are on duty &mdash; God love &rsquo;em &mdash; are not nearly as engaged as they used to be. And it is hard to blame them. But the Dem propaganda machine can only gloss <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/12\/28\/us-murder-violent-crime-rates-drop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with deceptions<\/a> the awful situation. Democrats praise a historic &ldquo;annual drop&rdquo; to levels above 2019 crime rates from the disgusting, murderous highs of 2020, 2021, and 2022 (under Biden and the media&rsquo;s sway).<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>This obtuseness about the Democrat and media-stoked violence of 2020, whipped up to create a deep desire for someone other than Trump in the fall 2020 election, is laughable. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/22344713\/murder-violent-crime-spike-surge-2020-covid-19-coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;We still don&rsquo;t know why murders in the U.S. rose so much.&rdquo;<\/a> <em>Sure, champ.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you want a longer explanation of what the propaganda press did that awful summer, read my X<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MTMehan\/status\/1812646255702483084?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1812646255702483084%7Ctwgr%5Eeeab0384071119eb9147476523c6ff5e8fc57b9a%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthreadreaderapp.com%2Fthread%2F1817567044335755711.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> thread<\/a>. I want to make one other point here about crime under Biden, in addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gop.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=407\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crime spree<\/a> his campaign and administration created. This point seems to be hiding in plain sight.<\/p>\n<p>Pew sees two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2024\/07\/22\/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high-water mark<\/a>s for so-called &ldquo;unauthorized immigration&rdquo;: the twin peaks of 2007 (under Obama) and 2024 (under Biden). While we can be thankful Pew is at least reporting those clear, even if very conservatively reported, facts about the Democrats on immigration, Pew nevertheless shows an unwelcome bias by failing to &mdash; <em>heh<\/em> &mdash; report on the decidedly criminal nature of that immigration. That is, all these people are breaking our immigration laws; that&rsquo;s what we <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ap.org\/announcements\/illegal-immigrant-no-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">used to call crime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So, while the crime rate is up, through the roof, and even the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elizabeth-warrens-claim-about-rising-islamophobia-blows-up-in-her-face\/\" title=\"Elizabeth Warren&#039;s Claim About Rising &#039;Islamophobia&#039; Blows Up in Her Face\">reported crime rate<\/a> has spiked in the era of bloody Biden, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hemingway-what-did-foreign-companies-get-for-paying-biden-family\/\" title=\"Hemingway: What Did Foreign Companies Get For Paying Biden Family?\">corporate media continues<\/a> to browbeat everyone into calling a whole host of crimes something other than crime.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, as people become more comfortable breaking the law, lying about that clear legal fact has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/guides\/insurance-services\/car-theft-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">snowball effect<\/a>, degrading law-abiding society more and more. Things that are still criminal on the books become tolerated. People don&rsquo;t even bother to call the police for minor violence and vandalism. They put up more and more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/recode\/2020\/1\/21\/21070402\/amazon-ring-sales-jumpshot-data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">surveillance<\/a> to try to <a href=\"https:\/\/bearingarms.com\/tomknighton\/2022\/02\/24\/gun-sales-surge-n55815\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protect themselves and their property<\/a>. And Democrat politicians, such as Alvin Bragg, define deviancy down, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2023\/apr\/08\/ron-desantis\/are-more-half-felony-charges-manhattan-downgraded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calling felonies misdemeanors<\/a> and bragging shamelessly that they&rsquo;ve reduced felonies.<\/p>\n<p>The reduction in police protection and safety on the streets is packaged as progressive, forward-thinking, wave-of-the-hopeful-future, digital, <a href=\"https:\/\/mayor.dc.gov\/release\/mayor-bowser-cut-ribbon-grand-opening-westerly-delivering-new-affordable-housing-and-retail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">techno-optimistic claptrap<\/a> from our Democrat media politicos. They fail to recruit cops, add more liberty-killing surveillance, and then claim victory: &ldquo;WE&rsquo;VE GOT MORE CAMERAS! WE WILL WATCH YOUR BEATING AND THEN BE SURE TO FOLLOW UP!&rdquo; Thanks, Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>The other day, Dana Perino pointed out on air that, while peaceful protest is a protected right, spray-painting and defacing federal buildings and monuments, and burning publicly owned American flags, are not legally protected forms of protest. Taking flags from government property is theft (a crime); burning them constitutes arson (another crime). Our Democrat-controlled governments no longer prevent such crimes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2024\/07\/26\/dc-netanyahu-protests-dropped-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nor prosecute them<\/a> when they are committed.<\/p>\n<p>Perino is right. Under the spell and rule of corporate media, we have become desensitized to these crimes and so many others. There simply aren&#8217;t enough officers available, and those who are on duty may be less proactive than before\u2014something that&#8217;s understandable given the circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this reality, Democrats attempt to downplay rising crime rates by highlighting minor annual decreases compared to the alarming highs seen during 2020-2022 under Biden\u2019s influence. This denial regarding violence fueled by Democratic rhetoric is absurd; it\u2019s baffling how some still claim ignorance about why murder rates surged.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Pew Research identifies two peaks in unauthorized immigration: one under Obama in 2007 and another expected under Biden in 2024. While it&#8217;s commendable that Pew reports these trends conservatively regarding immigration issues within the Democratic party framework, they fail to address the illegal nature of this immigration\u2014essentially labeling it as criminal behavior.<\/p>\n<p>As overall crime rates soar\u2014including reported incidents\u2014the corporate media continues its campaign downplaying various offenses as anything but crimes. This normalization leads society toward greater lawlessness; minor acts like vandalism go unreported as citizens increasingly rely on surveillance systems for protection instead of calling law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic politicians like Alvin Bragg further contribute by redefining serious offenses as lesser misdemeanors while boasting about reduced felony charges\u2014a troubling trend packaged as progressive reform when it actually diminishes public safety.<\/p>\n<p>Recently on air, Dana Perino highlighted an important distinction: while peaceful protest is protected legally, actions such as defacing federal property or burning flags constitute crimes like theft or arson which our current government fails either to prevent or prosecute effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Perino&#8217;s observations ring true; we have grown desensitized towards these violations due largely through corporate media influence.
