However, compared to 2016, there was a <a href=\"http:\/\/brookings.edu\/articles\/turnout-in-2020-spiked-among-both-democratic-and-republican-voting-groups-new-census-data-shows\/%E2%86%97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>drop<\/a> in the demographic&rsquo;s voter turnout in 2020 in key swing states such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Ultimately, these states were won by Biden, thus granting him the presidency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/analysis\/2024\/05\/21\/donald-trump-sees-polling-declines-with-parts-of-his-wisconsin-base\/73690766007\/\">Polling<\/a> conducted in Wisconsin from late 2023 to early 2024, reveals Trump&rsquo;s net favorability rating among white men dropped 22 points, from plus eight points to minus 14 points.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the appeal to choosing Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) was to reignite white male voters.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You need a white guy to get the white guys we lost. The <em>Hillbilly Elegy<\/em> guy is the one to do it,&rdquo; MAGA political operative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/george-santos-staffer-vish-burra-faces-discipline-for-menacing-sexual-comments-to-reporter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Vish Burra<\/a> told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebulwark.com\/p\/white-men-can-vote-the-logic-behind-vance-vp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Bulwark<\/em><\/a>. &ldquo;Trump needs Vance because he&rsquo;s good on camera and he sounds right.
