humpback whale landed on the stern of their boat.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-receives-hefty-fine-body-slamming-killer-whale-video-left-us-genuinely-stunned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whale<\/a> was mid-breach from the surface of the water when it swamped Greg Paquette and Ryland Kenney&rsquo;s craft, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seacoastonline.com\/story\/news\/local\/2024\/07\/23\/whale-slams-boat-topples-boaters-rye-nh-coast\/74515126007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seacoastonline<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The men were in &ldquo;fight or flight&rdquo; Everyone else had the same reaction and tried to get over to those people,&rdquo; Wyatt Yager said. &ldquo;It was like, &lsquo;Oh shoot,&rsquo; and then, &lsquo;We&rsquo;ve got to go help these people.&rsquo; All the boats dropped what they were doing to go over to help them.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The teenagers rescued Kenny and Paquette within two minutes of the men going in the water.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The men stayed in the Yagers&rsquo; boat for about 15 minutes, then the brothers dropped them off at a nearby friend&rsquo;s vessel before the Coast Guard arrived, according to Wyatt Yager. Paquette and Kenney were transported to Great Cove Boat Club in Eliot, Maine after the breach, the two fishermen said,&rdquo; according to Seacoastonline.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/brutal-turn-boat-full-migrants-coast-guard-cutter-intercepts-right-off-us-shores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coast Guard<\/a> spokesperson Diolanda Caballero said neither the fishermen, nor the whale were injured.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s been an emotional day,&rdquo; Paquette said.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard had received two mayday calls following the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Dianna Schulte, co-founder and director of research for the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/07\/23\/us-news\/breaching-humpback-whale-topples-boat-off-new-hampshire-coast-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> she believes the whale was not angry, but rather feeding.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was an accident,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The whales will come up through schools of fish with their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-bed-with-your-wife-pete-davidson-taunts-kanye-west\/\" title=\"\u2018In Bed With Your Wife\u2019: Pete Davidson Taunts Kanye West\">mouth wide open<\/a> and close their mouth, either right before they break the surface or even after they break the surface,&rdquo; Schulte explained.&nbsp;&ldquo;The boat was in the wrong place.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The menhaden fish, which are experiencing a population boom in the area, are a favorite among whales, dolphins and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/friends-survive-rough-water-sharks-jellyfish-hypothermia-fishing-trip-goes-horribly-wrong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sharks<\/a>, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The whales, when they&rsquo;re feeding on the fish schools, when they&rsquo;re that dense, they just can&rsquo;t see through the fish school, so they don&rsquo;t know what&rsquo;s above them, especially on a cloudy day like today.
