Adam Schiff of California, Wray revealed that on July 6, would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks both registered for the July 13 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secret-service-tells-trump-change-rally-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> rally and sought a chilling piece of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-judiciary-republicans-demand-biden-admin-preserve-docs-related-to-border-crisis-as-post-midterms-probes-loom\/\" title=\"House Judiciary Republicans Demand Biden Admin Preserve Docs Related to Border Crisis as Post-Midterms Probes Loom\">information dating back<\/a> more than six decades.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI director began by acknowledging that the FBI had yet to discover why Crooks decided to shoot the former president.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;A lot of the usual repositories of information have not yielded anything notable in terms of motive,&rdquo; Wray said.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Crooks, it seems, simply had an unusual fixation on famous people. In fact, the director very generically described the shooter as &ldquo;interested in public figures.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Then came a revelation that Wray hyped as &ldquo;important.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Starting somewhere around July 6 or so, he became very focused on former President Trump and this rally,&rdquo; he said of Crooks.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And, so, one of the things that I can  here today that has not been d yet is that we just in the last couple days found that, from our review &mdash; to your point about devices &mdash; analysis of a laptop that the investigation ties to the shooter reveals that on July 6 he did a Google search for, quote, how far away was Oswald from Kennedy,&rdquo; the director said.<\/p>\n<p>Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated then-President John F. Kennedy in Dallas on Nov. 24, 1963, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/history\/famous-cases\/jfk-assassination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-shooter-flew-drone-livestreamed-area-hours-attack-stunning-details-come-light-wray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wray<\/a>&nbsp;described Crooks&rsquo; JFK-related search as &ldquo;significant in terms of his state of mind.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That search, he added, occurred on the same day the would-be assassin apparently registered for the Butler rally.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">FBI Director Wray on Crooks&rsquo;: &ldquo;On July 6th, he did a Google search for &lsquo;How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?&rsquo; and so that&rsquo;s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind&hellip;that is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler rally.&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bsygFiTLYu\">pic.twitter.com\/bsygFiTLYu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CSPAN (@cspan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cspan\/status\/1816149348134084794?\">July 24, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In light of the FBI&rsquo;s history, both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bombshell-investigative-report-claims-link-trump-assassin-fbi-office-dc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/magazine\/archive\/2022\/12\/j-edgar-hoover-fbi-influence\/671900\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">distant<\/a>, readers may decide for themselves whether to trust its director.<\/p>\n<p>The Oswald-JFK search revelation did establish that Crooks contemplated his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/putin-regime-breaches-russian-constitution-with-navalny-arrest\/\" title=\"Putin regime breaches Russian Constitution with Navalny arrest\">attempted assassination<\/a> of Trump at least a week beforehand.<\/p>\n<p>On the whole, however, Wray&rsquo;s remarks illustrated how much disdain he and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-secret-service-director-kimberly-cheatle-day-disastrous-house-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">other federal bureaucrats<\/a> feel toward the American people.<\/p>\n<p>Finding a search history on a laptop takes a matter of seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, imagine appearing before Congress and describing a Google search as if it constituted some breathtaking discovery. To do something like that, how much contempt would you have to feel for your audience?<\/p>\n<p>In short, federal officials like Wray seem to have no interest in telling the public much of anything.
