An <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221109112030\/https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/members\/report-cards\/2019\"><span>archived<\/span><\/a><span>  version of the GovTrack Report Card for 2019 ranked then-California Sen. Harris as the &ldquo;most politically left.&rdquo; In <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/members\/report-cards\/2020\/senate\/ideology\"><span>2020<\/span><\/a><span>, she was ranked second most politically left behind Democratic Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2024\/07\/22\/fact-check-video-first-harris-presidential-ad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: No, Video Does Not Show First Kamala Harris Presidential Ad)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/joshdata.me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joshua Tauberer<\/a>, founder of GovTrack, told Check Your Fact that GovTrack used to publish legislator &ldquo;report cards&rdquo; based on a single calendar year at the end of the first year of a two-year Congress.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The statistic that Rep. Waltz is referring to was based on a single calendar year,&rdquo; Tauberer said. &ldquo;Several years ago we discontinued creating new single-calendar-year &lsquo;report cards&rsquo;: We determined that the limited data available in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/covid-has-killed-her-hundreds-of-thousands-but-abortion-has-killed-her-tens-of-millions\/\" title=\"COVID Has Killed Her Hundreds of Thousands, But Abortion Has Killed Her Tens of Millions\">single year<\/a> was not sufficient to create a reliable portrait of the activity of legislators, particularly given the ebbs and flows of the legislative calendar, and therefore did not serve as a useful tool to our users and the American public.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Tauberer referred Check Your Fact to Harris&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/members\/kamala_harris\/412678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">page<\/a> on the site, which he said is the &ldquo;most reliable co-sponsorship ideology analysis relevant&rdquo; to the topic, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/members\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">page<\/a> for &ldquo;biennial report cards based on complete two-year data for each Congressional session.&rdquo; The graph, titled &ldquo;Ideology-Leadership chart&rdquo; showed Harris as one of the top-10 most left-leaning scorers on the chart between 2017 and 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Attacks against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-had-standing-order-to-declassify-docs-taken-to-his-residence\/\" title=\"Trump Had &quot;Standing Order&quot; to Declassify Docs Taken to His Residence\">incumbent vice president<\/a> have intensified shortly after she was endorsed by Biden.
