The federal government had brought fewer than\u2064 100 FACE Act prosecutions \u200dsince its inception in 1994, but this changed\u200b during Biden&#8217;s presidency, with a quarter of all prosecutions happening under his administration. Despite numerous attacks on pregnancy \u2064centers and pro-life organizations, the\u2063 FBI \u200band DOJ prioritized prosecuting\u200d pro-lifers.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress during a House Judiciary Committee&nbsp;hearing on Wednesday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has historically focused more on &ldquo;abortion-related violent extremism&rdquo; than targeting pro-lifers under the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/28\/the-face-act-is-unconstitutional-its-past-time-congress-got-rid-of-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unconstitutional Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When it comes to FACE Act enforcement and abortion-related violent extremism, I think one of the things that gets lost &mdash; and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify &mdash; is that really, since the <em>Dobbs <\/em>decision, actually more of our abortion-related violent extremism investigations have focused on violence against pro-life facilities, as opposed to other way around,&rdquo; Wray claimed. <\/p>\n<p>As Republican Rep. The other 55 targeted people who value life in the womb for<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/19\/yes-bidens-department-of-justice-wants-to-imprison-peaceful-pro-lifers-for-praying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> praying, singing, and evangelizing<\/a> at abortion facilities across the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>As of President Joe Biden&rsquo;s inauguration in January 2021, the federal government&nbsp;had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/news\/2022\/05\/09\/abortions-last-stand-post-roe-future-already-happening-florida\/9680312002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brought fewer than 100 FACE Act prosecutions<\/a>&nbsp;since the&nbsp;law&rsquo;s&nbsp;inception in 1994. That amounts to fewer than four targetings a year under an act that, as Roy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/first-heritage-foundation.s3.amazonaws.com\/live_files\/2023\/04\/Defund-Face-Act-Appropriations-Letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">noted in a 2023 letter<\/a>, &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/02\/22\/biden-doj-charges-eight-more-pro-life-activists-with-violating-face-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">had never<\/a>&nbsp;been used to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-lifers-could-face-11-years-in-prison-for-trying-to-protect-innocents-from-harm\/\" title=\"Pro-life advocates may face up to 11 years in jail for defending the vulnerable from harm.\">indict individuals related<\/a> to an attack on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/post-roe-pro-life-activists-vow-to-protect-mothers-and-babies-while-planned-parenthood-touts-more-at-home-abortions\/\" title=\"Post-Roe: Pro-Life Activists Vow to Protect Mothers and Babies While Planned Parenthood Touts More At-Home Abortions\">pro-life pregnancy center<\/a> or house of worship.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The scarcity of FACE Act prosecutions quickly changed, however, during Biden&rsquo;s House tenure. Following the Supreme Court&rsquo;s <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> decision, the Biden Administration&rsquo;s Department of Justice became responsible for nearly a quarter of all FACE Act prosecutions. Despite at least&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/catholicvote.org\/pregnancy-center-attack-tracker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">90<\/a>&nbsp;abortion-fueled <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/12\/feds-suddenly-remember-to-decry-threats-of-violence-after-ignoring-violent-dobbs-backlash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">firebombings, vandalism, and other<\/a> attacks on lifesaving pregnancy centers, pro-life organizations, and churches in the wake of the leaked <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> opinion, the FBI and DOJ focused most of their time and resources on jailing pro-lifers.<\/p>\n<p>One such case involved the arrest of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/06\/04\/75-year-old-woman-feels-joy-face-two-year-prison-sentence-pro-life-activism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">75-year-old Paulette Harlow<\/a>, a woman with a &ldquo;debilitating medical condition&rdquo; who was charged and found guilty of a civil rights conspiracy and violating the FACE Act for praying at a Washington D.C. abortion facility.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Do you think it is appropriate for a 75-year-old woman who is praying at a clinic in DC to be put in prison for two years for that activity? Just a simple question. Do you think that&rsquo;s appropriate?&rdquo; Roy asked Wray.<\/p>\n<p>Wray claimed he was &ldquo;not familiar with this specific case.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The FBI director&rsquo;s attempts to brush off the administration&rsquo;s apparent animosity for people who believe in the sanctity of life further prove Americans are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/05\/majority-of-americans-want-corrupt-fbi-to-be-reformed-or-shut-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">right not to trust<\/a> the nation&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-is-right-bidens-ban-of-terms-like-illegal-alien-is-orwellian-designed-to-cover-up-the-truth\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz Is Right: Biden\u2019s Ban Of Terms Like \u2018Illegal Alien\u2019 Is Orwellian, Designed To Cover Up The Truth\">premier law enforcement agency<\/a> or its <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/24\/exclusive-plurality-of-independents-dont-trust-doj-or-fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DOJ partner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The FACE Act has been weaponized against harmless pro-life senior citizens, while arson and violence against churches and pregnancy centers is ignored,&rdquo; Republican Sen.
