His ability to win over voters in a deep-red state while still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/kentucky-democrats-abortion-governors-race-beshear-cameron-rcna120652\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>taking<\/a> liberal stances on issues such as abortion rights could make him a successful vice presidential candidate.<\/p>\n<p>He endorsed Harris on MSNBC&rsquo;s <em>Morning Joe <\/em>on Monday and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3093509\/andy-beshear-roy-cooper-harris-vice-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>hinted<\/a> that he may be open to being her running mate.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few things to know about the popular Kentucky Democrat.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Age<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear was born on Nov. 29, 1977. He is 46 years old.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hometown<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear was born and raised in Kentucky&rsquo;s Fayette, Franklin, and Clark counties. He currently lives in Frankfort, where the governor&rsquo;s mansion is located.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky, and earned his bachelor&rsquo;s degree in political science and anthropology from Vanderbilt University in 2000. He holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Time in office<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear has served as the 63rd governor of Kentucky since 2019, beating out Republican incumbent Matt Bevin by just over 5,000 votes. He secured another tough victory against his Republican opponent, Daniel Cameron, in 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/kentucky-governor-campaign-beshear-cameron-8a7971db9c79c0bf75d93f61dab4d5fb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>focusing<\/a> his campaign on his successes within the state rather than on partisan politics.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career<\/h2>\n<p>Before being elected as governor, Beshear served as Kentucky&rsquo;s 50th attorney general since 2015. He previously worked at the law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stites.com\/resources\/press-releases\/two-stites-harbison-pllc-alumni-take-leadership-positions-in-kentucky-state-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Stites &amp; Harbison<\/a> in the firm&rsquo;s Louisville, Kentucky, office.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Religion<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear is a deacon at the Beargrass Christian Church in Louisville.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Family<\/h2>\n<p>Beshear is the son of former Gov. Steve Beshear, making him the first child of a previous Kentucky governor to be elected to the office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Andy Beshear has been married to Britainy Beshear since 2006.
