Biden, along with numerous other Democrats and celebrities, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3092780\/biden-endorses-harris-after-bowing-out-2024-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>given their endorsements to Harris<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steele, the chairman of the RNC for two years from 2009 to 2011, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/1468452\/former-rnc-chairman-michael-steele-joins-lincoln-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>joined the Lincoln Project<\/a>, an anti-Trump group, in 2020 and also endorsed Biden ahead of the 2020 election. He later stated in May 2024 that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/2991721\/former-rnc-chairman-says-trump-afraid-of-losing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Trump was &ldquo;afraid of losing&rdquo;<\/a> the election in November against Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to becoming leader of the RNC, Steele was Maryland&rsquo;s lieutenant governor from 2003 to 2007.
