alleged electoral injuries is too speculative to support standing,&rdquo; Du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/rnc-vs-burgess-order.pdf\">ruled<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/election-2020-joe-biden-donald-trump-elections-courts-c9674bbf1090515bfad0920344f17037\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">won<\/a> Nevada in 2020 by 33,596 votes, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nevada-allowed-to-continue-counting-ballots-received-after-election-day-judge-rules-2\/\" title=\"Nevada allowed to continue counting ballots received after Election Day, judge rules\">state legislature officially extended<\/a> the deadline for which counties could accept mail-in ballots post-marked by Election Day to four days after Election Day. The statute is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsl.org\/elections-and-campaigns\/the-evolution-of-absentee-mail-voting-laws-2020-through-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">similar<\/a> to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nevada-law-allowing-late-ballots-to-be-counted-is-unconstitutional-lawsuit-alleges\/\" title=\"Lawsuit claims Nevada&#039;s late ballot counting law is unconstitutional\">temporary pandemic-related measure<\/a> that extended the mail-in ballot deadline to seven days post-election in 2020. It also permits ballots &ldquo;whose date of postmark cannot be determined&rdquo; to be accepted so long as they arrive before 5:00 p.m. on the third day after Election Day, according to the ruling. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READNEXT:[READNEXT:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/12\/03\/trump-lawyers-claim-widespread-election-fraud-in-nevada-and-theyre-about-to-have-their-day-in-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump Lawyers Claim Widespread Election Fraud In Nevada, And They&rsquo;re About To Have Their Day In Court<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The RNC and Trump campaign argued the extension &ldquo;violates federal law&rdquo; that establishes a uniform Election Day.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70a0869ac6a2f694ac801b62f0bbffd6 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-70a0869ac6a2f694ac801b62f0bbffd6\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The result of Nevada&rsquo;s violation of federal law is that timely, valid ballots are diluted by untimely, invalid ballots, which violates the rights of candidates, campaigns, and voters under federal law,&rdquo; the suit filed in May <a href=\"https:\/\/prod-static.gop.com\/media\/documents\/NV_Election_Day_Complaint_filed_05.03.20243_1714757420.pdf?_gl=1*rwk76x*_gcl_au*MTQ2MTg4NjgwNy4xNzE0NTA5Njk1&amp;_ga=2.243593413.1772150727.1715002494-1335934802.1714509696\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleged<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Dilution of honest votes, to any degree, by the casting of fraudulent or illegitimate votes violates the right to vote,&rdquo; it continues.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans pointed to the inclination Democrats have toward using mail-in ballots in the state, noting in their suit that during the 2020 general election, 60.3 percent of Democratic Nevada voters voted by mail compared to just 36.9 percent of Republican voters.<\/p>\n<p>Du, an Obama appointee, has a history of siding with leftist election priorities. During 2020, she permitted Fair Maps Nevada to <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Miranda_Du\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">continue collecting<\/a> voter signatures to get a question on the ballot regarding the creation of a Nevada redistricting commission, despite the deadline having passed. Du argued the state stay-at-home order prevented Fair Maps Nevada from being able to collect the necessary signatures. Although the measure did not ultimately make it on the ballot, if passed it &ldquo;would have transferred the power to draw the state&rsquo;s congressional and legislative districts from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Nevada_State_Legislature\">state legislature<\/a>&nbsp;to a seven-member&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Independent_redistricting_commissions\">independent redistricting commission<\/a>,&rdquo; according to Ballotpedia. Du also rejected a challenge from True the Vote in 2020 which sought to prevent the state from having an all-mail primary election. Du argued the motion lacked standing and ruled that &ldquo;protecting the health and safety of Nevada&rsquo;s voters &hellip; in light of the COVID-19 pandemic&rdquo; by using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nevada-allowed-to-continue-counting-ballots-received-after-election-day-judge-rules\/\" title=\"Nevada allowed to continue counting ballots received after Election Day, judge rules\">widespread mail balloting outweighed concerns<\/a> about potential dilution of votes, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/judge-rejects-conservative-groups-attempt-to-block-planned-all-mail-primary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Nevada Independent<\/a>.
