She threatened to seize Trump&rsquo;s assets in Manhattan to satisfy the judgment.<\/p>\n<p>However, a New York appeals court stepped in and lowered the bond amount he had to post to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-civil-fraud-trial-appeal-bond-9c727602732c683fde6edd64879611e7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$175 million<\/a> while the former president pursues his appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2024\/03\/25\/trump-net-worth-grows-now-on-500-richest-list\/73098851007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> reported in March that because of the merger of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group with Digital World Acquisition Corp., the former president&rsquo;s net worth went up by more than $4 billion to $6.5 billion, &ldquo;catapulting him into the world&rsquo;s wealthiest 500 people on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index for the first time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>His previous high had been $3.1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s like something right out of the Bible&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Job+42%3A12-17&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Book of Job<\/a>, when God restored twice as much materially to the afflicted man following multiple attacks by Satan.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning,&rdquo; the Scripture says.<\/p>\n<p>God also talks about restoring double to those who have been through affliction in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Zechariah+9%3A12&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zechariah 9<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah+61%3A7&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isaiah 61<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And as Carson noted, Trump is not only wealthier, he is also freer than he has been for months with the dismissal of special counsel Jack Smith&rsquo;s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-handed-massive-win-right-assassination-attempt-classified-docs-case-gets-hit-hard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> classified documents<\/a> case on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the Supreme Court ruled this month he has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/turley-scotus-immunity-decision-produces-cardiac-arrest-jack-smith-trump-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immunity for official acts<\/a> that he took as president, putting a major wrench in Smith&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-deranged-sounding-georgia-grand-jury-foreman-throws-election-case-against-trump-into-legal-jeopardy\/\" title=\"WATCH: Deranged-Sounding Georgia Grand Jury Foreman Throws Election Case Against Trump Into Legal Jeopardy\">election interference case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The SCOTUS ruling also might end up causing Trump&rsquo;s New York business records conviction to be thrown out or retried, because some of the information presented at trial would fall under official acts shielded from prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-merchan-issues-last-minute-jury-instruction-designed-convict-trump-even-jurors-dont-agree\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juan Merchan<\/a> has delayed sentencing in the case from this month to September while Trump&rsquo;s attorneys and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg&rsquo;s prosecutors respond to the development.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The postponement sets the sentencing for Sept. 18 at the earliest &mdash; if it happens at all, since Trump&rsquo;s lawyers are arguing that the Supreme Court ruling merits not only delaying the sentencing but tossing out his conviction,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-hush-money-sentencing-bragg-4d5f8ce399656abff72d7c114a04060d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Associated Press<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, following the conviction, the Trump campaign took in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/05\/31\/trump-campaign-donations-record.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">record level of contributions<\/a> &mdash; making the former president&rsquo;s campaign coffers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/conservative-billionaire-timothy-mellon-gives-50-million-pro-trump-super-pac-2024-06-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">greater than Biden&rsquo;s<\/a> for the first time during the election.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court also determined that the Department of Justice&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/supreme-court-rules-jan-6-rioter-challenging-obstruction-char-rcna155902\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">improperly charged<\/a> defendants in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion with a federal obstruction crime that does not apply to them. Smith has indicted Trump on the same crime, so it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/scotus-appears-put-hundreds-biden-doj-jan-6-charges-doubt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">likely will go away<\/a> too.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves Fulton County District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/court-makes-huge-decision-trump-election-case-will-affect-2024-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fanni Willis&rsquo;<\/a> election inference case in Georgia, which an appeals court recently paused to determine if Willis&rsquo; conduct has disqualified her from overseeing it. No new trial date has been set, according to the<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-hush-money-sentencing-bragg-4d5f8ce399656abff72d7c114a04060d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> AP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A recurring theme in Scripture is that people for whom God has a plan can go through persecution and trials (in Trump&rsquo;s case, literal ones) but come out better in the end.
