(That interview blitz was filled with gaffes that should have tipped him off to the fact the &ldquo;Lord Almighty&rdquo; was giving him a nudge, but never mind.)<\/p>\n<p>His campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-defiant-letter-house-democrats-slammed-breathtakingly-cynical-dishonest-side\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote an open letter<\/a> to congressional Democrats making clear that he&rsquo;d won the nomination fair and square and that to overturn the lower-case-D democratic process would be unethical. (There were no other major candidates, however, and anyone who even tested the waters was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kennedy-family-put-blast-treating-rfk-jr-mark-totalitarian-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shunned by the party<\/a>.) He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-ignores-reality-tells-donors-done-talking-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told donors<\/a>, he was &ldquo;done talking about the debate&rdquo; and that it was time to stop focusing on him and &ldquo;put Trump in a bullseye.&rdquo; (He would later have to apologize after Trump survived an assassination attempt and reporters noted Biden and his team had decried Trump&rsquo;s far more innocuous use of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fresh-off-destroying-don-lemon-elon-obliterates-bloodbath-lie-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">word &ldquo;bloodbath&rdquo; as a metaphor for trade imbalances<\/a> during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-shocker-biden-questions-if-kamala-can-win-hinting-at-possible-change-in-nominee\/\" title=\"White House shocker: Biden questions if Kamala can win, hinting at possible change in nominee\">speech months ago<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>But now, finally, it appears Biden might be waking up to the harsh realities that he can&rsquo;t continue as nominee &mdash; and that a plan B is urgently called for.<\/p>\n<p>According to a late Wednesday dispatch by <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2024\/07\/17\/politics\/biden-democratic-advisers-campaign\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>, Biden reportedly asked advisers during a discussion aboard Air Force One whether he should listen to calls to step aside from his own party &mdash; the first sign that the president is seriously considering moving aside.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, CNN reported, behind-the-scenes conversations in Washington, D.C., have seen the president much more &ldquo;receptive&rdquo; to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/details-biden-call-senators-bad-thought-50-dems-come\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stepping aside<\/a> than his public stance would indicate.<\/p>\n<p>The discussions on Wednesday happened after Biden cut a trip to Nevada short after testing positive for COVID-19, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/biden-tests-positive-covid-19-unidosus-president-says-2024-07-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He is vaccinated and boosted and experiencing mild symptoms,&rdquo; said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.<\/p>\n<p>However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-sickness-hits-biden-amid-calls-drop-quickly-cancels-election-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip to Las Vegas<\/a> didn&rsquo;t go without its  of Bidenisms, even before he tested positive for the virus. J.D. Vance as his running mate only makes her chances in the Midwest more difficult.
