She has faced criticism throughout the country, from many in Congress to billionaire Elon Musk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-votes-on-major-security-upgrade-will-fine-members-5k-for-bypassing-metal-detectors\/\" title=\"House Votes On Major Security Upgrade, Will Fine Members K For Bypassing Metal Detectors\">security detail<\/a> should resign,&rdquo; Musk <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1812278791105913068\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a> to X on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Several Republicans in Congress echoed Musk&rsquo;s sentiments about Cheatle&rsquo;s resignation.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) called for Cheatle&rsquo;s resignation earlier this week, the <em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3085008\/republicans-secret-service-director-kimberly-cheatle-resign-or-lose-salary\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a><\/em>  previously reported. He also threatened to propose legislation to reduce her salary to $1 if she did not resign.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Cheatle needs to resign. If not, I&rsquo;m going to utilize the Holman Rule to take her salary down to $1 and ask her to leave,&rdquo; Mills said in an interview earlier this week. &ldquo;I texted Speaker Johnson today, and I said, &lsquo;I want to head a J-13 commission.
