NOT A CHANCE\">records request<\/a> to the Secret Service ahead of a hearing regarding the assassination \u2064attempt on former President Donald Trump. Chairman James Comer and other \u2064Republican members have asked Director Kimberly \u200cCheatle for a wide range of materials related to the incident. The \u2062request comes as part of preparations for a\u200b planned hearing next week. In the request, the committee asked for all documents and communications related to threats against former President Trump, any security assessments conducted \u2062prior to the incident, and information on\u2062 the suspect who \u200cattempted to\u2064 assassinate him. They also requested details on the Secret Service&#8217;s \u2064response to the incident and any \u2064changes in security protocols made as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Comer stated, &#8220;It is crucial that we fully understand what happened during this attempted assassination\u200d and\u200c what measures are being taken to prevent future attacks on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/is-the-democrats-election-heist-too-big-to-fail\/\" title=\"Is the Democrats\u2019 Election Heist \u2018Too Big to Fail\u2019?\">elected officials<\/a>. The Secret Service plays a \u2064critical role in protecting the President and other high-ranking officials, and we must ensure they have the resources and support they need to carry out their important mission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The committee&#8217;s hearing is set \u200bto take place next week, where Director\u200d Cheatle \u200bis expected to testify and provide additional information on the incident. rel=\"noopener\" title>Secret Service<\/a> on Monday to provide a wide range of material related to the assassination attempt on former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> ahead of a planned hearing next week.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and other Republican members wrote a letter to Director Kimberly Cheatle asking her for a list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/56-dems-help-pass-another-house-border-measure\/\" title=\"56 Democrats support the passage of a new border measure in the House\">law enforcement officers working<\/a> at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally, where a gunman opened fire over the weekend, killing one, critically injuring two, and causing a minor injury to Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers also asked Cheatle for any audio and video recordings from the event that were in Secret Service\u2019s possession, as well as all internal documents and communications the agency had from the event.<\/p>\n<p>Cheatle is set to appear before the committee for a hearing on July 22, according to an aide.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a
