The attack\u200d occurred at a Trump \u200dcampaign \u200drally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a\u2063 shooter fired at the stage before being neutralized by Secret Service agents. Members of Congress, including \u2062Sen. Ron Johnson, condemned the shooting but\u200c also criticized the Democrats\u200c for their inflammatory language against Trump. The incident has \u200braised\u2064 concerns about political violence \u2062and the \u2063role \u200dof media\u200b in fueling extremism. \u200dRep. An attendee at the Trump campaign rally was killed, as was the gunman, according to law enforcement. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/07\/13\/trump-rushed-off-stage-by-secret-service-at-rally-after-loud-cracking-noises.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Officials say<\/a> the shooter, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/livecoverage\/trump-rally-incident\/card\/secret-service-killed-the-shooter-law-enforcement-says-7yRgx93eeJmSNHl3eraJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">killed<\/a> by U.S. Secret Service agents, was not a rally attendee. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI repeatedly hear Democrats in Washington, D.C, talking about Donald Trump being a threat to our democracy,\u201d said Rep. Tom Tiffany, who represents Wisconsin\u2019s 7th Congressional District. \u201cIt is repeated all the time time. I hear every day that Donald Trump is a threat. It\u2019s amped up at such a level that some people are going to take it seriously.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s exactly what a leftist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/06\/14\/homepage2\/james-hodgkinson-profile\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bernie Sanders-backing gunman<\/a> did in 2017, when he shot up a congressional baseball game in Alexandria, Va., seriously wounding House GOP Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and four others. The left\u2019s hatred for Trump, amplified by the accomplice media, has grown exponentially worse as their biggest enemy prepares to officially be nominated as the GOP presidential candidate a third straight time, this time in Milwaukee, swing state Wisconsin\u2019s biggest city. <\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Secret Service issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/possible-shots-fired-at-trump-rally-in-butler-pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> this evening: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring Former President Trump\u2019s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on the evening of July 13 at approximately 6:15 p.m., a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue. U.S. Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. U.S. Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and Former President Trump is safe. One spectator was killed, and two spectators were critically injured. This incident is currently under investigation. and the Secret Service has notified the FBI.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Stoking the Flames<\/h2>\n<p>U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., just like other members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle, condemned the shooting and said he was praying for the former president, the shooter\u2019s other victims,  and America. He said the direct point of blame for any shooting is the gunman, but Democrats and their eight-year war on Trump have stoked the flames of extremism. <\/p>\n<p>While President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/no-place-in-america-for-this-kind-of-sick-violence-says-biden-after-trump-rally-shooting-13177664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> \u201ceveryone must condemn\u201d the violent attack on his political opponent, Johnson noted that the Democrat\u2019s own rhetoric in the heated campaign hasn\u2019t helped matters. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden just a few days ago said to donors that Democrats need to put Trump \u2018in a bullseye,\u2019\u201d Wisconsin\u2019s senior senator said. <\/p>\n<p>Reeling from a <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-2024-lawmakers-debate-2c426f98063ab30143a7675cba10a5b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disastrous debate performance<\/a> late last month and calls by fellow Democrats to step aside, Biden told donors last week that the party needed to \u201cmove forward\u201d \u2014 but he isn\u2019t going anywhere.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have one job, and that\u2019s to beat Donald Trump. I\u2019m absolutely certain I\u2019m the best person to be able to do that. So, we\u2019re done talking about the debate, it\u2019s time to put Trump in a bullseye,\u201d\u00a0Biden said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/07\/08\/congress\/defiant-biden-tells-donors-were-done-with-the-debate-00166834\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to<\/a> a recording obtained by Politico. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden\/status\/1565492666120523778?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 2, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Johnson said no one in corporate media seemed to bat an eye at Biden\u2019s turn of phrase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you imagine if a Republican would have said something like that?\u201d the senator said. <\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Two Inches from Murder\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman said it\u2019s a miracle Trump survived the suspected assassination attempt. The former president reportedly was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/us-news\/trump-rally-pennsylvania-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">struck in the ear<\/a>. Video shows he was whisked off stage with a bloody ear. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s two inches from murder,\u201d Grothman, who represents Wisconsin\u2019s 6th Congressional District, told me. <\/p>\n<p>He said he recently had the unfortunate experience of watching more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/the-reidout\/reidout-blog\/trump-washington-dc-take-over-military-crime-rcna161177\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSNBC<\/a> than he wanted to, in an effort to get a sense of where the political left stands. What he saw shocked him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey literally have these Democrats whipped up to such a frenzy where they really think there\u2019s going to be a dictatorship if Trump wins,\u201d Grothman said. \u201cI think their [Democrats\u2019] mouthpieces in the media have to take the blame, too. Maybe it\u2019s not that shocking that something like this would happen.\u201d <\/p>\n<h2>Dissent Foreshadowing?<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s not just the politicos and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/erickson-reconciliation-will-happen-just-not-now\/\" title=\"ERICKSON: Reconciliation Will Happen, Just Not Now\">left-leaning press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In her recent dissent to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity, left-wing Justice Sonia Sotomayor hyperbolically mused that the majority opinion would grant the commander-in-chief sweeping immunity to target political opponents with violence. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOrders the Navy\u2019s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival?\u201d she wrote. \u201cImmune.\u201d The accomplice media <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/07\/02\/trump-immunity-murder-navy-sotomayor-00166385\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">played up<\/a> the justice\u2019s extreme \u2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/leftists-falsely-suggest-biden-can-assassinate-trump-scotus-justices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">false<\/a> \u2014 dissent. Some followed up with a feeding frenzy of violent scenarios on social media, my Federalist colleague Brianna Lyman reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the Supreme Court, Biden could now send in Seal Team 6 to take all of them out. He could send in the military to take out Trump. They just say Donald Trump is a threat to democracy because they\u2019ve got no policy arguments.
