After the July 11\u200d primary races showed\u2062 similar results to the\u2062 original election, County Commissioners Clara Andriola \u2062and Perry Rosenstein\u2063 were declared winners. \u200cHowever, following allegations\u2062 of suspicious behavior during the\u2062 recount, Commissioner Andriola refused to certify \u2064the results. Allegations included the improper use of thumb drives and the unauthorized handling of election data.\u200b Washoe County residents have called for a hand recount \u2064and a new election due to various \u200dissues with the election process, such as the incorrect mailing of ballots. The Washoe \u2064County Board of\u200c Commissioners is scheduled to reconsider \u2062certifying the\u200d recount results on July 16. Despite \u200bthese concerns, Nevada Secretary\u200c of State Francisco Aguilar and Attorney General \u200cAaron D. Ford filed\u2063 a \u2063petition with the Nevada Supreme Court to force \u200bthe county to certify the\u2062 recount results.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>After the Washoe County Commission refused to certify a recount result following multiple allegations of misconduct, Nevada Democrat officials want to force them to certify the election results anyway.<\/p>\n<p>The July 11 primary races for County Commission District 4 and School Board Trustee District G were contested. The county held two recounts, which <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/washoe-county-primary-election-results-remain-unchanged-after-recount\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">showed<\/a> practically the same results as the primary, with County Commissioner Clara Andriola winning her District 4 race and Perry Rosenstein winning his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/school-district-tells-principals-to-create-fake-curriculum-to-send-parents-after-complaints-of-indoctrination\/\" title=\"School District Tells Principals To Create Fake Curriculum To Send Parents After Complaints Of Indoctrination\">school board race<\/a>, according to The Nevada Independent. <\/p>\n<p>Fellow Washoe County Board of Commissioners Mike Clark and Jeanne Herman voted with Andriola on Tuesday, however, to not certify the recount results of the primaries after allegations of suspicious behavior were made during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hot-mic-all-trustees-of-school-board-resign-after-mocking-parents-wanting-schools-reopened\/\" title=\"HOT MIC: All Trustees Of School Board Resign After Mocking Parents Wanting Schools Reopened\">public comment portion<\/a> of the Tuesday meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Andriola reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/washoe-county-commissioners-vote-not-to-certify-primary-election-recounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> it was \u201cnot the first time that we\u2019ve heard a lot of concerns of procedures, a lot of concerns of alleged mishaps\u201d that she would not certify the recount. \u201cI believe that it warrants further investigation,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>While Andriola \u2014 who Herman described to The Federalist as a member that typically sides with the Democrats \u2014 won her own race, she cited an election violation complaint filed with the county as her reason for not certifying the results. <\/p>\n<p>The formal election integrity violation was filed by Briana Foroszowsky, who claims to have observed part of the process.<\/p>\n<p>Foroszowsky alleged she entered the Washoe County Registrar of Voters lobby on May 28, 2024 and observed \u2014 through the public observation window \u2014 a man by the name of Michael Mulreany. According to the complaint, she allegedly saw Mulreany \u201cremove[] a white device from the workstation that looked like a thumb drive, [stand] up with the thumb drive in hand, turn[] his back to [her], and then [walk] \u2026 out of a door that leads to the processing room.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, Foroszowsky then spoke with the media specialist from the Registrar of Voters office, George Guthrie, who \u201cexplained Mr. Mulreany was uploading the Pre Logic and Accuracy Test\u201d which allegedly \u201crun[s] a couple of weeks in advance to make sure \u2018\u2026all Dominion Machines were up to spec whenever they are going out to a vote center\u2026a pretest to make sure they are all accurate.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, Guthrie told Foroszowsky that Mulreany was sending the data to the secretary of state\u2019s office and is one of few people with access to that room.<\/p>\n<p>When Foroszowsky asked Guthrie what the device was, he allegedly told her it \u201cwould have been all the data that was from our PreLAT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foroszowsky alleged Guthrie \u201cconfirmed to [her] the data from the Tabulation Room was on a thumb drive.\u201d Guthrie also purportedly clarified \u201cthat the thumb drive was most likely taken by Mr. Mulreany out of the Ballot Tabulation room to his desk and emailed to the Secretary of State\u2019s Office.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>But Foroszowsky claimed it was her \u201cunderstanding that the election [was] in process and nothing should be uploaded or extracted from the Ballot Tabulation Room at [that] time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Herman told The Federalist that thumb drives are \u201cabsolutely not\u201d to be used \u201cin any count.\u201d However, Guthrie later reiterated to the Federalist the explanation he allegedly provided Foroszowsky: that thumb drives <em>are<\/em> permitted to be used.<\/p>\n<p>County officials <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/washoe-county-commissioners-vote-not-to-certify-primary-election-recounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> said the secretary of state\u2019s office is \u201clooking into\u201d the complaint. The secretary of state\u2019s office has not responded to The Federalist\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p>During the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ardUI-NfHiU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">public comment portion<\/a> of the July 9 meeting, several proclaimed Washoe County residents urged the board not to certify the recount results and urged a hand-recount. Under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/Division\/Legal\/LawLibrary\/NRS\/NRS-293.html#NRS293Sec403\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">state law<\/a>, a recount must be conducted \u201cin the same manner in which the ballots were originally tabulated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One woman, Val White, alleged that during the election and recount, she saw \u201cmultiple thumb drives\u201d being used after she was allegedly told by Washoe County Interim Registrar Cari Ann Burgess that no thumb drives would be permitted.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Beadles \u2014 who has \u201cpaid about $150,000 for the three recounts,\u201d according to The Nevada Independent \u2014 also spoke during the comment period to call for a new election and a hand recount. <\/p>\n<p>Other issues reported with the election included the county elections department sending mail-in ballots to voters who opted not to receive one, The Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nevada-election-certification-washoe-county-conspiracy-theories-259fd52cc2d0c6770a741d854dd0ae28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Washoe County Board of Commissioners Chair Alexis Hill <a href=\"https:\/\/foxreno.com\/amp\/news\/local\/washoe-recount-canvass-to-be-reconsidered-at-republican-commissioners-request\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told reporters<\/a> the board would reconsider whether to certify the recount results. This is scheduled to take place on July 16. <\/p>\n<p>Following Hill\u2019s announcement, Andriola told The Federalist in a statement on Wednesday: \u201cAs Chair Hill indicated earlier today, the canvass of the recount is being put on next week\u2019s county commission agenda for reconsideration at my request before this matter becomes final under our commission rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the concerns, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar and Attorney General Aaron D. Ford <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/sos\/Home\/Components\/News\/News\/3504\/309?backlist=%2fsos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed a petition<\/a> with the Nevada Supreme Court to force the county to certify the recount results, arguing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/nac\/NAC-293.html#NAC293Sec365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nevada Administrative Code<\/a> requires counties to certify recount results \u201cwithin 5 working days after the completion of the recount.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Both Aguilar and Ford tried to smear those questioning the administration of the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis week, three county commissioners refused to canvass accurate election results as required by law,\u201d Aguilar said in a statement. \u201cThis vote has the potential to set a dangerous precedent for elections in Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the Board of Commissioners failed to perform its duty to certify the authenticated results of the recount, it failed to meet the expectation of Nevada voters that the election results would reflect the votes of the majority,\u201d Ford said, suggesting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republican-canvassers-rescind-their-votes-to-certify-wayne-county-michigan-results\/\" title=\"Republican Canvassers Rescind Their Votes to Certify Wayne County, Michigan, Results\">county board<\/a> was \u201ctry[ing] to delegitimize accurate election results or undermine a count of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aguilar and Ford\u2019s response comes amind a growing pressure from Democrats to make election certification a \u201cministerial\u201d task in which elected officials have no choice but to certify even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-what-the-jan-6-show-trials-are-really-after\/\" title=\"Here\u2019s What The Jan. 6 Show Trials Are Really After\">questionable election results<\/a>.
