Hogg called the effort a \u201cpillow fight \u201d and even went so far as to recruit a partner, tech entrepreneur William LeGate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[William LeGate] and I can and will run a better business and make a better product all with more happy staff than Mike the pillow guy while creating US based Union jobs and helping people,\u201d Hogg tweeted at the time. \u201cThis pillow fight is just getting started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The goal was lofty. Hogg and LeGate did not simply want to put MyPillow out of business \u2014 under the assumption that the market could not support two politically-minded pillow companies \u2014 but also Fox News, which airs MyPillow commercials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are considering airing a commercial on Fox News immediately following MyPillow ads\u2026 my ad buyer says it is unlikely they\u2019ll let us do that, though, since Fox News relies on MyPillow &amp; if MyPillow goes under, it could also really hurt Fox News,\u201d LeGate tweeted shortly after the pair announced their \u201claunch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell was non-plussed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood for them\u2026. nothing wrong with competition that does not infringe on someone\u2019s patent,\u201d he told media shortly after Hogg\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Hogg\u2019s soft launch was fraught with difficulty, as progressives demanded the new company comply with a far-left value system, employing union labor and manufacturing strictly within the United States, perhaps in minority communities, with an eye to environmentalism. The plan was to turn such a profit that Hogg and LeGate could immediately give back to progressive causes.<\/p>\n<p>The company took off, with Hogg promising that progressive consumers \u201cshould be able to purchase the items in around a month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One month on, though, there have been no updates on Hogg\u2019s progress. The last missive came on February 10th, when Hogg told Good Pillow\u2019s Twitter followers that Good Pillow was \u201ctrying to finalize the list of charity partners will [sic] be launching with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Worse still, it appears Hogg and his partner forgot to trademark the \u201cGood Pillow\u201d name, and now a third party \u2014 a person out of North Carolina \u2014 appears to have filed an application for their mark, leaving Good Pillow all but defunct as a brand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the trademark application, \u2018Good pillow\u2019 was being registered for a \u2018custom-built pillow,\u2019 to use the mark in commerce or in connection with identified goods and services,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/meaww.com\/\">news website Meaww reported<\/a>. \u201cThe application is now waiting to be assigned to an examining attorney approximately three months after the filing date, which will take place in May 2021. The image&nbsp;registered with the application does not match the logo on Hogg\u2019s and LeGate\u2019s Good Pillow co&nbsp;website. At the time of reporting, no other applications for the name have been filed under either Hogg\u2019s or LeGate\u2019s name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hogg himself is on a hiatus from Twitter after announcing, in late February, that he was taking a planned break from publicity.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
