She said she knew very little about the Royal family and her now-husband Duke of Sussex Prince Harry, and she didn\u2019t even \u201cGoogle\u201d him before the pair went out. Markle did acknowledge to Winfrey during the sit-down interview that she knew of the Royal family.<\/p>\n<p>Markel, however, reportedly penned a blog in 2014 musing about becoming a princess, specifically mentioning the wedding of her now-husband\u2019s brother and wife, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate. The blog has since been wiped. Page Six <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/03\/14\/markle-claims-during-oprah-interview-debunked-by-2014-blog-post\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"27.21271393643\">\n<p><em>\u201cLittle girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,\u2019\u2019 wrote the now-Duchess of Sussex in 2014, while commenting on the \u201cpomp\u201d surrounding Britain\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2012\/06\/05\/kate-middleton-prince-william-relive-wedding-day\/\">Prince William and Kate Middleton\u2019s wedding<\/a> three years earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/fabulous\/14327601\/meghan-markle-knew-little-royals-oprah-wrote-william-kate-wedding-blog\/?utm_medium=browser_notifications&amp;utm_source=pushly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to the Sun on Sunday.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFor those of you unfamiliar with the \u201880s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength,\u201d Markle said in her since-nixed blog.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,\u201d said Markle, who married Prince Harry, William\u2019s brother, in May 2018.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGrown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,\u201d Markle mused.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The blog post, dubbed \u201cThe Tig\u201d reportedly \u201caccompanied an interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi, a descendant of Libyan royalty, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/14277841\/meghan-markle-oprah-interview-full-transcript\/\">Meghan<\/a> claimed she had a \u2018pinch-myself-I\u2019m-emailing-with-a-princess\u2019 moment during their correspondence,\u201d The Sun <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/fabulous\/14327601\/meghan-markle-knew-little-royals-oprah-wrote-william-kate-wedding-blog\/?utm_medium=browser_notifications&amp;utm_source=pushly\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Page Six noted, \u201cThe 39-year-old former actress \u2026&nbsp;also claimed <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/03\/08\/meghan-markle-dishes-to-oprah-about-royal-pains-of-monarchy\/\">in the explosive TV chat<\/a> that she basically had no clue about the British royal family before marrying into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went into it naively because I didn\u2019t grow up knowing much about the royal family,\u201d Markle said during the interview, noting that&nbsp;talk about the royals \u201cwasn\u2019t something that we followed\u201d at home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you didn\u2019t have a conversation with yourself or talking to your friends or thinking about what it\u2019s like to marry a prince, who is Harry \u2014 who you had fallen in love with \u2014 and what it would to be a part of that family? You didn\u2019t give it a lot of thought?\u201d Winfrey asked Markle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d Markel responded. \u201cWe thought about what we thought it might be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA former longtime friend of Markle\u2019s has said&nbsp;her alleged social-climbing buddy always wanted to be \u2018Princess Diana 2.0,\u2019 while royal biographer Andrew Morton has written that the duchess cried watching the funeral of her husband\u2019s mother on TV in 1997,\u201d Page Six <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/03\/14\/markle-claims-during-oprah-interview-debunked-by-2014-blog-post\/\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was always fascinated by the Royal Family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0,&#8217;\u201d former Markel friend&nbsp;Ninaki Priddy reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/5947038\/meghan-markle-princess-diana-new-book\/\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Markle\u2019s interview with husband Prince Harry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/meghan-markle-claims-kate-middleton-made-her-cry\">made waves<\/a>&nbsp;last week mostly over claims Markle made about alleged racism from within the royal family and her son\u2019s skin tone, though she failed to identify many specifics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were concerned that if he were too brown that that would be a problem?\u201d Winfrey asked. Markle responded, \u201cI wasn\u2019t able to follow up.
