A brush fire is sweeping through the Hawaiian island of Maui\u200c once again, with winds pushing the \u200cfire along the\u200c slopes of \u200bMaui volcano Haleakala, stretching 400 acres. The Maui Fire Department\u200d issued an emergency alert<\/a> and multiple agencies\u2063 are working to contain the \u2063fire. Crater Road, leading to the summit of Haleakala, is closed, but no residences or \u2063structures have been impacted so far. Lt. \u2062Gov. Sylvia Luke signed an emergency order<\/a> to bring in additional agencies to aid\u2063 in the response. This is the second major fire in Maui in about a year, with \u200bthe previous one destroying the coastal town of\u200c Lahaina in August 2023. <\/p>\n
