Rep. Bob Good from \u200cVirginia \u2062has filed for a recount in the GOP primary for \u200cVirginia’s 5th Congressional District after losing by just 374 votes. His opponent, state Sen. John McGuire, won \u200bwith 50.3% of\u2064 the\u200c vote. Good is responsible for paying for \u200cthe recount himself, but will be refunded if he is declared the winner. If the recount confirms<\/a> his\u200b loss, he will\u2062 be the \u2064first House\u2064 Republican to\u2063 lose his \u200cprimary this year and the first House Freedom Caucus chairman to lose reelection.\u200b Good’s possible \u2062exit from Congress is seen as a welcome\u2063 development by some\u2062 House Republicans due to\u200d his actions \u200bwithin the Freedom Caucus. <\/p>\n
