Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4761576-jasmine-crockett-rips-chip-roy-for-kamala-harris-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>criticize him as \u201cignorant as all get-out.\u201d<\/a> The Texas representative contended that Biden was \u201cvery specific\u201d in wanting either a woman or a person of color as his vice president and \u201claid out that this was a DEI process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe didn\u2019t say what I would say or what I think President Trump would say or somebody who believes in American values in saying, \u2018I want the best person for the job, regardless of whether they\u2019re a man or a woman, black or white or wherever they come from,\u2019\u201d Roy said on <em>The Dana Loesch Show<\/em>. \u201cThat\u2019s the American way. Their way is un-American. Their way is against freedom and actual equality. They want to set parameters that are exactly what DEI is; DEI is destroying our country. Nobody looks at Kamala Harris and says, \u2018Oh man, that\u2019s the best we can do!\u2019 Who in the hell says that?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Rep. (AP Photo\/Jose Luis Magana)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Roy continued his criticism by arguing that Harris, the \u201cborder czar,\u201d has done nothing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/border-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>secure the border<\/a> and \u201cdestroy[ed] our country.\u201d He also referenced that Harris\u2019s handling of the border has left many U.S. residents dead, including Georgia nursing student <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/laken-riley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Laken Riley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Chip-Roy-on-Kamala-7-9-24-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n<p>The Texas congressman referenced how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ben-carson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Dr. Ben Carson<\/a> was hired for in the Trump administration as secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, arguing he is both a \u201cgreat guy\u201d and someone who \u201cunderstands what\u2019s at stake about the soul of America.\u201d He added that he would follow Carson into \u201cany battle he wants to go in.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd you know what? He wasn\u2019t a DEI hire,\u201d Roy said. \u201cHe was an awesome hire!
