The website also links \u200cto misinformation about abortion and abortion pill reversal. Maura Healey, a Democrat, billed the advertisements as a \u201cpublic education campaign\u201d paid for by $1 million in taxpayer dollars approved in the state legislature\u2019s FY2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/files\/documents\/2023\/09\/13\/HD4572%20Timestamped.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supplemental budget<\/a>. The initiative marks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/news\/healey-driscoll-administration-launches-first-in-the-nation-public-education-campaign-on-the-dangers-of-anti-abortion-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the first time<\/a> a state government has used public funds to campaign against pro-life organizations. The state government worked with pro-abortion group Reproductive Equity Now Foundation to launch the attacks. <\/p>\n<p>The billboard directs women to a state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/avoid-anti-abortion-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government website<\/a> that attacks pro-life pregnancy centers. The home page provides information on how to identify and file a complaint against pregnancy centers. Women are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/info-details\/about-anti-abortion-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> to avoid centers that offer \u201chope\u201d and feature \u201cpictures of babies and children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnti-abortion centers, often called \u2018crisis pregnancy centers\u2019, look like medical facilities but don\u2019t offer comprehensive care,\u201d the website reads. \u201cSome may not offer any medical care. They may mislead you about your options if you\u2019re pregnant and can put your health at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The site makes a variety of unsubstantiated claims about the over 30 pro-life centers in Massachusetts, including accusations of \u201cuntrained staff and volunteers\u201d and attempts \u201cto delay your care and potentially put your health at risk,\u201d concluding that \u201cthese centers are not a safe or trusted place to go\u201d for help. <\/p>\n<p>The page provides zero data and no anecdotal evidence to support these claims. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Governor\u2019s Office did not immediately respond to The Federalist\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p>The website claims pro-life pregnancy centers \u201cpurposefully operate and advertise themselves in lower income communities and communities of color\u201d but provides no evidence to support the assertion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/openworks.wooster.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=1012&#038;context=blackandgold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/LifeDynamicsRacialReport.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studies<\/a> indicate abortion provider Planned Parenthood deliberately targets minority women, fulfilling founder Margaret Sanger\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/sanger.hosting.nyu.edu\/documents\/speech_morality_and_bc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated goal<\/a> to \u201clead ultimately to a cleaner race.\u201d Life Issues Institute <a href=\"https:\/\/lifeissues.org\/article\/new-research-shows-planned-parenthood-targets-minority-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research<\/a> found the organization \u201cstrategically place[d]\u201d \u201c62% of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities \u2026 within walking distance (2 miles) of relatively high African American populations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The page links to collaborator Reproductive Equity Now Foundation\u2019s (RENF) <a href=\"https:\/\/reproequitynow.org\/about-antiabortion-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>,\u00a0which contains a laundry list of misinformation. <\/p>\n<p>RENF claims \u201cthere is no scientific evidence that abortion results in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/big-pharma-funded-researchers-churn-out-biased-studies-promoting-gender-transitions-for-children\/\" title=\"Big Pharma Funded Researchers Churn Out Biased Studies Promoting Gender Transitions for Children\">adverse mental health outcomes<\/a>.\u201d Multiple studies indicate that abortion is destructive to women\u2019s mental health, substantially increasing <a href=\"https:\/\/afterabortion.org\/pdf\/DeathsAssociatedWithAbortion.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suicide rates<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3395931\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">depression<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/16405636\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">substance abuse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The organization also called abortion pill reversal a \u201cfake service \u2026 which is not supported by science and poses serious threats to patients\u2019 health.\u201d Several <a href=\"https:\/\/aaplog.org\/abortion-pill-reversal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">organizations<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncregister.com\/news\/pro-life-doctor-abortion-pill-reversal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">experts<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30831017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studies<\/a>, however, have demonstrated its efficacy for <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/01\/abortion-pill-reversal-gave-my-daughter-and-me-a-second-chance-at-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">women<\/a> who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/choosing-life-over-an-abortion-pill-was-the-best-choice-i-ever-made\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">change<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/02\/08\/samantha-saved-baby-giselle-pill-reversal-three-abortion-attempts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/01\/if-google-had-banned-abortion-pill-reversal-info-in-2013-my-beautiful-child-could-be-dead-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minds<\/a> about chemical abortion. <\/p>\n<p>Pro-life centers are under attack as they continue to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-pro-life-pregnancy-centers-deliver-real-world-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increasing amounts<\/a> of charitable goods and services to pregnant women and their children. Members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancycarealliance.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pregnancy Care Alliance<\/a> of Massachusetts (PCAM) provided over $1 million in ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, diapers, baby formula, and other material goods in 2022 alone. Total support from pregnancy centers nationwide totaled <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pregnancy-Center-2024-Update.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">over $350 million<\/a> in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe women served by pregnancy resource centers overwhelmingly report a positive experience, yet the Healey Administration and other politicians in the state are furthering their extreme abortion agenda by using a taxpayer-funded campaign to discredit our centers,\u201d PCAM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/massachusetts-launches-1-million-ad-campaign-warning-women-dangers-pro-life-pregnancy-centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> Fox News Digital. \u201cThis politically motivated campaign will negatively impact women the most, specifically the many women who want to parent and rely on the free assistance we provide.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Monroe Harless is a summer intern at The Federalist.
