Former \u2063President Donald Trump celebrated the passage of the Republican Party’s 2024 platform, which closely mirrors\u200d his America First agenda. The platform\u200c includes\u200b plans for securing the U.S. border, restoring energy dominance, \u2062reforming\u200d taxes, and strengthening the military.\u2063 However, some pro-life supporters<\/a> are concerned about the platform’s \u2062watered-down commitment to\u2064 protecting the \u2063lives \u200dof the unborn. Unlike the 2016 platform, this year’s \u200cplatform does not include support for a 20-week ban on abortion. Trump has taken the position that abortion regulation should be\u200b left\u2063 to the \u200dstates since the Supreme \u2062Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision. The platform reaffirms the party’s commitment to protecting unborn life<\/a> through the 14th \u2064Amendment. Social conservatives are pleased that the platform takes a firm stance on gender policy, including keeping men out of\u200b women’s sports and banning taxpayer\u2064 funding for sex change surgeries.
